Aeromagnetic anomalies and structural lineaments in the Nigerian Basement Complex

Journal of African Earth Sciences (and the Middle East), 1990
Abstract The structural and tectonic framework of the Nigerian Basement Complex comprises northeast-southwest-erly and northwest-southeasterly lineaments, superposed over a dominant north-southerly trend, of which the northeast-southwesterly lineament, defining the Benue trough and delineating the continental continuation of Atlantic fracture zones ...

Structural interpretation of the Bouguer and aeromagnetic anomalies in central Sinai

Journal of African Earth Sciences, 1994
Abstract A large part of the central Sinai peninsula, covering mainly the El-Tih and Egma plateaux, was evaluated using geophysical data. The Bouguer and aeromagnetic anomaly maps were critically analyzed and correlated to investigate regional tectonism, structural elements and major sedimentary basins characterizing this region.

Method for depth estimation on aeromagnetic vertical gradient anomalies

Geophysics, 1985
Abstract The straight-slope technique introduced some years ago by Vacquier et al. (1951) is employed to develop simple empirical procedures that can be used to determine depth to the top/center of anomalous sources on measured aeromagnetic vertical gradient profiles.

Notes on some aeromagnetic anomalies from northern Sweden

Geoexploration, 1964
Abstract The aeromagnetic surveys over the Pre-Cambrian bedrock in northern Sweden provide valuable information both for locating geological boundaries in poorly exposed areas and for determining the attitude of the rock interfaces in the vertical plane.

Origin of a major aeromagnetic anomaly in the Middle Niger Basin, Nigeria

Tectonophysics, 1990
Abstract A composite magnetic anomaly map was compiled from existing half-degree aeromagnetic sheets of the southeastern sector of the Middle Niger (Nupe) Basin. The map. which has the International Geomagnetic Reference Field (I.G.R.F., epoch date 1 January 1974) removed, is dominated by an elongated E-W negative anomaly aligned along latitude 9 ...
