Aeromagnetic gradiometry methods: A study using real data

SEG Technical Program Expanded Abstracts 1990, 1990
SUNNARY A three component magnetic gradiometer survey conducted in December 1988 is analyzed. The survey specifications (line spacing 100 m, survey altitude of 150 m, 8 Hz sampling and average ground speed of 100 m/set), were appropriate for a detailed magnetic survey. A very small area with a variety of magnetic terranes was selected.

Werner deconvolution for variable altitude aeromagnetic data

Geophysics, 1993
Abstract The standard Werner deconvolution method is extended to include the effects of variable sensor altitude but this leads to a deconvolution algorithm that is unstable for slowly changing flight height. By expressing the sensor altitude as a linear function of horizontal position (within a specified window), we show that the ...

Aeromagnetic noise from magnetometers and data acquisition systems

8th International Congress of the Brazilian Geophysical Society, 2003
Aeromagnetic aircraft and data acquisition systems generate magnetic interference which can effect the quality of the data collected. Many people believe that traditional aircraft compensation, which models the permanent, induced, and eddy-current sources, can remove all of this interference.

The 1949 algorithm for the rapid interpretation of aeromagnetic data

Geophysics, 1996
Abstract In the early 1920s, magnetic anomalies were thought to be caused by topographic relief at the base of the sedimentary section. The drilling of the Hobbs anomaly on the Central Basin Platform in West Texas was successful, but the anomaly, primarily intrabasement in origin, could not quantitatively be related to the structure ...
