Differential expression of AF4/FEL mRNA in human tissues

Genetic Analysis, Techniques and Applications, 1996
This manuscript reports the differential expression of the AF4 gene among human tissues. AF4 mRNA is highly expressed in normal placental tissue which correlates with the newborn age of patients presenting with leukemia characterized by the MLL/AF4 gene rearrangement.

AF4 Encodes a Ubiquitous Protein That in Both Native and MLL-AF4 Fusion Types Localizes to Subnuclear Compartments

Blood, 1998
Abstract Acute leukemia with t(4;11)(q21,q23) translocation results from the in-frame fusion of the MLL to the AF4/FEL gene. In previous studies, we and others demonstrated that AF4 transcripts are present in a variety of hematopoietic and nonhematopoietic human cells.

The ongoing conundrum of MLL-AF4 driven leukemogenesis

Blood, 2013
In this issue of Blood, Bueno and colleagues explore the developmental impact, as well as the transforming capacity, of the mixed-lineage leukemia (MLL)–AF4 fusion protein in combination with activation of FMS-like tyrosine receptor 3 (FLT3) in human embryonic stem cells (hESCs ...

Octafluoro[2.2]paracyclophane (AF4) Quinone

Collection of Czechoslovak Chemical Communications, 2008
Octafluoro[2.2]paracyclophane (AF4) has been oxidized by treatment with HIO3 in CF3CO2H to form the corresponding p-quinone along with a unique triketone. This quinone undergoes reduction to the respective hydroquinone as well as a Diels-Alder reaction with 1,3-cyclohexadiene.
