An agent-based model for mRNA export through the nuclear pore complex. [PDF]
mRNA export from the nucleus is an essential step in the expression of every protein- coding gene in eukaryotes, but many aspects of this process remain poorly understood.

Cryptochrome and PAS/LOV proteins play intricate roles in circadian clocks where they act as both sensors and mediators of protein–protein interactions. Their ubiquitous presence in signaling networks has positioned them as targets for small‐molecule therapeutics. This review provides a structural introduction to these protein families.

Methods for Improving Aptamer Binding Affinity
Aptamers are single stranded oligonucleotides that bind a wide range of biological targets. Although aptamers can be isolated from pools of random sequence oligonucleotides using affinity-based selection, aptamers with high affinities are not always ...

Pb2+, Cu2+, Zn2+, Mg2+ and Mn2+ reduce the affinities of flavone, genistein and kaempferol for human serum albumin in vitro [PDF]
Flavone (Fl), genistein (Gen) and kaempferol (Kol) were studied for their affinities towards human serum albumin (HSA) in the presence and absence of Pb2+,Cu2+,Zn2+,Mg2+ and Mn2+.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Avoiding Unbound Anions in Density Functional Calculations
Converged approximate density functional calculations usually do not bind anions, due to large self-interaction error. But Hartree-Fock calculations have no such prob- lem, producing negative HOMO energies.

PICALM::MLLT10 translocated leukemia
This comprehensive review of PICALM::MLLT10 translocated acute leukemia provides an in‐depth review of the structure and function of CALM, AF10, and the fusion oncoprotein (1). The multifaceted molecular mechanisms of oncogenesis, including nucleocytoplasmic shuttling (2), epigenetic modifications (3), and disruption of endocytosis (4), are then ...

A presença de Nietzsche na obra de Foucault: mais do que uma afinidade filosófica [PDF]
The references to Nietzsche proliferate in such a way along the almost thirty years of Foucault’s theoretical work that is evident the strong link between them.

Let \({\mathbf P \mathbf G}(V)\) be an \((n + 1)\)-dimensional projective space arising from a right \((n + 2)\)-dimensional vector space over some skewfield \(D\). Let \(0 \leq k \leq n\) and let \({\mathcal H}\) be a collection of \(k\)-dimensional subspaces of \({\mathbf P \mathbf G} (V)\) with the property that for every \((k-1)\)-dimensional ...

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.
