Diel net CO2 exchange of carnivorous Pinguicula is consistent with low‐level CAM photosynthesis

open access: yesPlant Biology, EarlyView.
In carnivorous butterworts (Pinguicula), CO2 uptake occurs primarily in the light via C3 photosynthesis, yet low‐level CAM photosynthesis, including net CO2 dark fixation, significantly improves the carbon balance of plants, especially under water‐deficit conditions.

Bt agave: why it is time to explore a new biotechnological frontier

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 82, Issue 9, Page 8053-8063, September 2026.
Drylands cover 41% of Earth, requiring sustainable crops. Agave, drought‐ and heat‐adapted, offers high‐value products with low water needs. Pests limit yield, yet Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) Cry proteins, successful in other plants, remain unexploited in Agave.

Raciolinguistic Autobiographies With Intermediate Elementary Learners

open access: yesThe Reading Teacher, Volume 80, Issue 2, September/October 2026.
ABSTRACT We propose raciolinguistic autobiographies as a developmentally appropriate multimodal composition authored by intermediate elementary learners (Grades 3–5) that promotes critical consciousness around how language, race, and signs are interwoven to form hierarchies of power and belonging.

Probiotic Stability and Antihypertensive Activity of Peptides in Aguamiel Syrup‐Fortified Milk Protein Fermented by Lacticasebacillus rhamnosus GG

open access: yeseFood, Volume 7, Issue 4, August 2026.
This study evaluates the impact of aguamiel syrup on a synbiotic fermented dairy product, focusing on antihypertensive peptide release and Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus GG survival. While metabolic parameters remained unchanged, aguamiel syrup enhanced bioactive peptide production and antihypertensive activity (45.3%), suggesting its potential as a ...
