Distribution of the Age of Gossip in Networks
We study a general setting of gossip networks in which a source node forwards its measurements (in the form of status updates) about some observed physical process to a set of monitoring nodes according to independent Poisson processes. Furthermore, each monitoring node sends status updates about its information status (about the process observed by ...

Changing patterns of invasive meningococcal disease and future immunization strategies
Invasive meningococcal disease (IMD) is a life-threatening disease caused by Neisseria meningitidis and has high mortality rates. Survivors often exhibit long-term sequelae and reduced life expectancy. Disease incidence is highest in infants and toddlers,

Age-distribution dynamics and aging indexes [PDF]
Abstract I analyze the dynamics of the age distribution as some vital rates change. When the fertility or mortality rate declines, the age distribution often manifests a dynamic stochastic-dominance relationship. I also propose some alternative indexes for measuring population aging.

Stone age distributed computing [PDF]
A new model that depicts a network of randomized finite state machines operating in an asynchronous environment is introduced. This model, that can be viewed as a hybrid of the message passing model and cellular automata is suitable for applying the distributed computing lens to the study of networks of sub-microprocessor devices, e.g., biological ...
