IgM Serum Agglutinators

Scandinavian Journal of Immunology, 1973
In human sera showing elevated levels of IgM, the serum agglutinators may be of both IgG and IgM classes. When the quantity of IgG is very low, these antibodies may be solely of the IgM class. Elevations in IgM levels subsequent to loss of IgG through the kidney, as in nephrosis, and elevations in all immunoglobulin levels, as observed in severe ...

ISO-AGGLUTINATION AND HETERO-AGGLUTINATION OF SPERMATOZOA

The Biological Bulletin, 1922
1. Iso-agglutination occurs in the black chiton, Katharina tunicata. This is the first report of unmistakable iso-agglutination of spermatozoa of a mollusc; also of iso-agglutination of spermatozoa which are inactive in sea-water.2. The iso-agglutinated masses of spermatozoa of K. tunicata differ from those of sea-urchins and of Nereis.

Selective Agglutination

The Journal of Immunology, 1942
Summary A method is described which shows agglutination due to “major” agglutinins in mixtures of homologous and heterologous agglutinogens. Suitable dilutions of brucella-serum capable of agglutinating both abortus and melitensis to the same titer, show preference for the homologous organism when both antigens are mixed ...
