Quantifying Protein–Glycan Interactions Using Native Mass Spectrometry

open access: yesMass Spectrometry Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Interactions between glycan‐binding proteins (GBPs) and carbohydrates (glycans) are essential to many biological processes relevant to human health and disease. For most GBPs, however, their glycan interactome—the repertoire of glycans recognized and their specificities—is poorly defined.

Counting glomeruli in human kidney specimens using ex vivo MRI without contrast agents

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose The total number of glomeruli is an important indicator of kidney function and susceptibility to disease. Glomeruli, however, are difficult to image using MRI without contrast enhancement. For this reason, previous studies have used cationic ferritin as a contrast agent to detect glomeruli in ex vivo and in vivo perfused kidneys.

A unique case of red blood cell agglutination reaction on glass surface in otherwise normal sample

open access: yesAsian Journal of Transfusion Science
Autoimmune hemolytic anemias (AIHAs) are not very common, and autoimmunity is an important cause of hemolytic anemia, especially in female population. Some primary AIHAs are cold or warm agglutinin mediated anemia. Autoimmune reaction leads to macrophage

Advances in Molecularly Imprinted Polymers for Bone Biomarker Detection and Therapeutic Applications

open access: yesChemistryOpen, EarlyView.
This review highlights the emerging applications of molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) in bone regeneration and diagnosis. MIPs facilitate osteogenic treatments by guiding stem cell differentiation and delivering bioactive molecules and enable precise detection of bone turnover biomarkers via MIP‐based sensors, offering promising strategies for next‐

Characterization and differentiation of myocardial remodeling using artificial intelligence‐assisted confocal Raman spectroscopy imaging

open access: yesVIEW, EarlyView.
Myocardial remodeling is a key factor in heart failure. Rats were treated with ISO to induce remodeling, confirmed by echocardiography and staining. Confocal Raman spectroscopy imaging provided detailed insights into tissue architecture and the differentiation of regions.
