Use of Agile Practices in Start-ups [PDF]

open access: yese-Informatica Software Engineering Journal, 2021, 15.1
Context Software start-ups have shown their ability to develop and launch innovative software products and services. Small, motivated teams and uncertain project scope makes start-ups good candidates for adopting Agile practices. Objective We explore how start-ups use Agile practices and what effects can be associated with the use of those practices ...

PairTilt: Design and Control of an Active Tilt‐Rotor Quadcopter for Improved Efficiency and Agility

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
PairTilt is an actuated tilt‐rotor unmanned aerial vehicle capable of active shape reconfiguration, balancing simplicity, efficiency, and agility. Its H‐shaped frame incorporates pairwise tiltable rotors, which reduce gyroscopic torque and decouple key dynamics, enhancing maneuverability and reducing drag.

Effective factors in agile transformation process from change management perspective [PDF]

open access: yesTaghi Javdani Gandomani, et al., Effective factors in agile transformation process from change management perspective, 2nd Int. Conf. on Advance Information System, E-Education & Development (CAISED 2013), Jan. 2013, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 2013
After introducing agile approach in 2001, several agile methods were founded over the last decade. Agile values such as customer collaboration, embracing changes, iteration and frequent delivery, continuous integration, etc. motivate all software stakeholders to use these methods in their projects. The main issue is that for using these methods instead

Special Robotic Stylet for Assisting Endotracheal Intubation Based on Multisegment Continuum Mechanism

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
A robotic stylet is proposed based on a multisegment continuum mechanism for specialized assisting endotracheal intubation. Its geometric parameters are designed based on medical images and kinematic is derived. A prototype is fabricated, and its kinematics and application are experimentally verified. These robotic systems can improve accurate, secure,

A Multi-dimensional Study of Requirements Changes in Agile Software Development Projects [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
Agile processes are now widely practiced by software engineering (SE) teams, and the agile manifesto claims that agile methods support responding to changes well. However, no study appears to have researched whether this is accurate in reality. Requirements changes (RCs) are inevitable in any software development environment, and we wanted to acquire a

Bioinspired Design, Fabrication, and Wing Morphing of 3D‐Printed Magnetic Butterflies

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Inspired by the remarkable flight of monarch butterflies, lightweight, 3D‐printed magnetic butterflies are fabricated that mimic natural wing morphing without embedded electronics. By varying size, vein patterns, and laser energy in powder bed fusion printing, how these factors enhance deformation efficiency is shown.

Discursive Co-development of Agile Systems and Agile Methods [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Agile methods continue their growth in popularity. This spreading usage increases the need for adapting agile approaches to specific organizations. Hence, we investigate how system developers engage in the evolution of both agile systems and agile methods in practice. We study adaptation of the agile method Scrum in six organizations.

A Motion‐Sensing Integrated Soft Robot with Triboelectric Nanogenerator for Pipeline Inspection

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
A soft robot integrated with triboelectric nanogenerator‐based tactile sensors is proposed to achieve locomotion within pipelines and exteroception of different materials and structures of pipeline inner surfaces. By introducing a 1D‐convolutional neural network algorithm, the soft robot's accuracy in recognizing eight different pipe inner surface ...
