Documentation and agile methods [PDF]

open access: yesACM SIGCSE Bulletin, 2003
I have written previously about the need for students to develop discrimination as part of their preparation for professional practice during their undergraduate capstone courses. But nowhere is this need for discrimination more problematic than in the area of software documentation.

Titanium Suboxides Responsible for Electronic Anomaly Near Room Temperature in the Ti3C2Tx MXene

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Our multi‐technique study reveals that the near‐room‐temperature anomaly in Ti3C2Tx MXene is linked to titanium suboxide nanodomains, including Ti3O5, embedded within the MXene host. Their temperature‐driven transformation provides an alternative explanation to solvent‐ and swelling‐based models and offers new insight into the thermally activated ...

Thematic analysis and development of a conceptual framework for agile meetings' problems [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Engineering Management and Competitiveness, 2023
For Agile methodologies, it is extremely important to have a well-established communication system. In addition to the daily meetings of the project team members, there are also meetings before the start and after the end of each development cycle, when ...

Toward Enhanced Inertial Sensing via Dynamically Soft Topological States in Piezoelectric Microacoustic Metamaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A piezoelectric microacoustic wave device exploiting topologically protected interface states with significantly higher dynamic compliance than Lamb or Rayleigh modes achieves record‐high out‐of‐plane particle velocities exceeding 51 m/s. These findings indicate that leveraging topological interface states can overcome key limitations of piezoelectric ...

An Empirical Comparison of Two Agile Projects in the Same Organization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The appearance of Agile methods has been the most noticeable change to software process thinking in the last fifteen years[1]. The main goal of this research is to investigate the quality of Agile projects empirically, in order to help software ...

On the Usage and Benefits of Agile Methods & Practices. A Case Study at Bosch Chassis Systems Control [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
S.243-250Since software became a major part of the car, we were interested in identifying which agile practices are used and adapted at Bosch automotive. Therefore, we conducted a multi-case study with nine interviews from five Bosch projects.

A Method for Service Agile Construction

open access: yesAnais do X Simpósio Brasileiro de Sistemas de Informação (SBSI 2014), 2014
Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and agile methods share common drivers. However, there is a lack of guidelines a SOA team should pursue in order to develop services considering best practices, acceptance tests, distributed teams, contract refactoring, among other issues related to SOA principles and agile practices.

A Geometrically Transient Platform for Bioelectronic Implants

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Minimally invasive bioelectronic implants often compromise performance for smaller sizes. To resolve this optimization dilemma, a wireless bioelectronic implant with a transient geometry is introduced (MiFi). The origami‐inspired device miniaturizes up to sixfold for syringe insertion and autonomously unfolds post‐implantation.

Field‐Programmed Anisotropy in Magneto‐Piezoelectric Composites for Material‐Encoded Mechanoperception

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Field‐programmed anisotropy imparts material‐level intelligence to soft composites. Magnetic torque dynamics drive magneto‐piezoelectric nanowires from random dispersion into deterministic axial alignment. The resulting hierarchical percolation networks confine electromechanical coupling to specific axes and intrinsically decouple superposed force ...
