Bonding Durability Evaluation of Polymer-Modified Emulsified Asphalt Microsurfacing

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering
At present, there are few research studies on the durability of microsurfacing. To further improve the service quality and durability of microsurfacing, five kinds of polymer-modified emulsified asphalt were used to prepare microsurfacing mixture.

Relationship of Ageing to Insulin Resistance and Atherosclerosis

open access: yesMetabolites
Ageing drives a vicious cycle of insulin resistance (IR) and atherosclerosis through shared pathological pathways. This review aims to synthesise the current understanding of the molecular mechanisms that connect ageing, IR, and atherosclerosis, with a particular focus on oxidative stress, chronic inflammation, and metabolic disturbances.

Circulating tumor cell viability during and after radiotherapy mirrors treatment response in cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

The effects of aging, exercise and food restriction on the development of insulin resistance in adipocytes of young rats

open access: yes, 1987
Male Sprague-Dawley rats were used to determine whether insulin resistance develops between 1.5-4.0 months of age and whether it is related to aging or the development of obesity.

Stimulator of interferon genes agonist augmented antitumor immunity of osimertinib in Egfr‐mutated lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.

Effects of resistance training and detraining on muscle strength and blood lipid profiles in postmenopausal women

open access: yes, 2002
Objectives: To study the effects of eight weeks of supervised, low intensity resistance training (80% of 10 repetition maximum (10RM)) and eight weeks of detraining on muscle strength and blood lipid profiles in healthy, sedentary postmenopausal women.

Enhanced creep resistance in Mg-Y-Nd alloy via regulating prior thermo-mechanical treatment

open access: yesJournal of Magnesium and Alloys
In this study, the tensile creep behavior of a hot-rolled Mg-4Y-3.5Nd alloy subjected to different prior thermo-mechanical treatments was investigated at 220 ℃.
