First record of Cheilomenes sexmaculata (Fabricius, 1781) (Coleoptera, Coccinellidae) from Honduras [PDF]
Cheilomenes sexmaculata (Fabricius, 1781) (Coleoptera, Coccinellidae), a ladybug of Asian origin, has been recently reported in the Americas. Here, we record it for the first time in Honduras.

Repair of neuronal DNA damage in Alzheimer's disease by KCL‐286. (A) Amyloid‐β oligomers and plaques impair neuronal DNA repair pathways, leading to DNA double‐strand breaks and glial activation. (B) KCL‐286 activates RARβ/RXR signalling via retinoic acid response elements (RAREs), associated with increased BRCA1 expression, enhanced DNA repair and ...

Effect of terahertz irradiation on DNA damage repair in living cells
We investigated the effect of terahertz (THz) wave irradiation on DNA double‐strand break (DSB) repair in living cells. We found that THz irradiation enhanced DSB repair at specific frequencies, whereas heat treatment inhibited it, indicating that this effect is nonthermal and frequency‐specific.

Fine-tuning nutrient electrical conductivity in substrate hydroponics to boost growth and early fruit set of melon in a smart greenhouse [PDF]
Hydroponic melon (Cucumis melo L.) production is constrained by the high cost of standard standard AB Mix nutrients. This study evaluated an economical alternative (½ AB Mix + ½ Gandasil) at varied Electrical Conductivity (EC) levels (3, 4, 5 mS/cm ...

Malformin A1–mediated cytotoxicity in ovarian cancer cells occurs through pyroptosis and autophagy
This study investigated the effects of the natural compound Malformin A1 (MA1) on the cytoskeleton that regulates cell proliferation and migration. Disruption of the cytoskeleton can impair these processes and promote cancer cell death. MA1 disrupted cytoskeletal organization, induced DNA damage, inflammation, activated autophagy, and pyroptosis ...
