Farm‐Level Greenhouse Gas Balance of Commercial Coffee Production in Minas Gerais, Brazil

open access: yesGreenhouse Gases: Science and Technology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Coffee production is considered a potential contributor to climate change mitigation due to its perennial biomass and carbon storage capacity. However, empirical assessments of greenhouse gas (GHG) balances at the farm level remain limited for commercial coffee systems.

Optimization of moisture content and application rate of hay preservative during high‐moisture alfalfa hay baling in northwestern China

open access: yesGrassland Research, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Leaf shatter during low‐moisture baling and mold proliferation under high‐moisture conditions pose major challenges in alfalfa hay production. A proprietary propionic acid‐based hay preservative product, LZP, effectively inhibits microbial reproduction in high‐moisture alfalfa bales; however, its optimal moisture thresholds and ...

Integrating belowground bud bank dynamics into grassland monitoring and management

open access: yesGrassland Research, EarlyView.
Adaptive Management of Grassland Ecosystems: A Bud Bank Perspective. Abstract Belowground bud banks are the core regenerative organs of perennial herbaceous plants, playing an irreplaceable role in population persistence, community assembly, and ecosystem restoration.

Cross species metabolic complementation of vitamin K2 biosynthesis determines emergent suppression of tomato Fusarium wilt

open access: yesiMeta, EarlyView.
Multi‐omics approaches have revealed a cross‐species functional emergence phenomenon leading to emergent suppression of Fusarium wilt. We show that a three‑species consortium exhibits emergent suppression of Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lycopersici (Fol) that is absent in single or pairwise cultures.

Transforming Agricultural Water Management Through the Water–Energy–Food Nexus: Trends, Opportunities, Barriers and Solutions

open access: yesIrrigation and Drainage, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Agricultural water management (AWM) is increasingly transitioning towards transformative thinking, where interconnected sectors, including water, energy and food, are managed holistically. Trends point towards cross‐sectoral and harmonised strategies to optimise water use efficiency and productivity, integrate renewable energy, promote ...
