A Mild and Efficient Iridium‐Catalyzed Method for Aldimine Hydrogenation

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, EarlyView.
A mild, efficient, and broadly applicable iridium‐catalyzed method for aldimine hydrogenation, facilitating access to an array of corresponding amine products in high isolated yields is reported. The developed methodology employs a bidentate iridium‐N‐heterocyclic carbene‐phosphine complex for use at low catalyst loadings, and proceeds under an ...

Electrochemical Trifluoromethylchlorosulfonylation of Alkenes via Copper‐Mediated SO2Cl Radical Transfer

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, EarlyView.
This article reports an electrosynthetic method for vicinal trifluoromethylchlorosulfonylation of alkenes using [Cu(MeCN)4]PF6 and triethylamine, without elaborate ligands. The reaction efficiently adds CF3 and SO2Cl across diverse unactivated alkenes with broad functional group tolerance.

Iron Single‐Atom Catalyzed N‐Alkylation of Amines with Alcohols via Solvent‐Free Borrowing Hydrogen Strategy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An innovative iron‐based single‐atom catalyst (FeSA@N‐G) with Fe1–N4 coordination is presented, synthesized through a simple and scalable method. It exhibits exceptional activity and selectivity in N‐alkylation via the borrowing hydrogen strategy under solvent‐free conditions, producing water as the only by‐product. Achieving record TOF (413.1 h-1) and

Synthesis of Primary Amines via Reductive Amination of Aldehydes and Ketones Over a Ni‐Doped MFM‐300(Cr) Catalyst

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Reductive amination of aldehydes and ketones to primary amines with high selectivity and yield can be achieved over Ni‐doped MFM‐300(Cr) in the presence of NH3 and H2. In situ inelastic neutron scattering, coupled with modeling, reveals that cooperativity between Ni active sites and MFM‐300(Cr) affords an optimal microenvironment for the selective ...

Pd(II)–NHC (NHC = N‐Heterocyclic Carbene)‐Catalyzed Alkylation of Primary Amides by Site‐Selective N─C(O) Activation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A highly efficient method for Pd(II)–NHC (NHC = N‐heterocyclic carbene)‐catalyzed alkylation of primary amides using alkyl organozinc reagents is reported. The sterically‐hindered and readily accessible IPr* is found to be privileged for facilitating this highly challenging alkylation. Comparative studies, application to the synthesis of pharmaceutical
