Spatiotemporal mapping of agricultural drought using geospatial approach in the East Bale Zone, Ethiopia

open access: yesAgrosystems, Geosciences &Environment, Volume 9, Issue 4, December 2026.
Abstract Agricultural drought significantly threatens food security, livelihoods, and ecosystem stability, especially in regions prone to drought, such as the East Bale zone. This study investigates the spatial and temporal patterns of agricultural drought over 30 years (1993–2024) by combining meteorological station data with satellite‐derived ...

Integrating biomass productivity and forage quality to identify superior inbred sorghum lines grown in Egyptian sandy soils

open access: yesAgrosystems, Geosciences &Environment, Volume 9, Issue 4, December 2026.
Abstract Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench is a globally significant cereal crop, increasingly favored over maize for forage due to its superior tolerance to abiotic stresses and cost‐effectiveness. However, high lignin content remains a primary constraint for livestock digestibility.

Foliar Biofortification of Lentil (Lens culinaris Medik.) With Iron, Zinc, and Selenium: Multi‐Environment Evaluation in Bangladesh

open access: yesLegume Science, Volume 8, Issue 4, December 2026.
ABSTRACT Micronutrient malnutrition remains a major global challenge, particularly in developing countries of South Asia, where diets are dominated by cereal‐based foods with low mineral content. Lentil is a nutrient‐rich legume with strong potential for biofortification to enhance dietary intake of iron (Fe), zinc (Zn), and selenium (Se).

GLoN: A Global–Local Framework for Global Agricultural Nitrogen Loss Prediction

open access: yesModern Agriculture, Volume 4, Issue 2, December 2026.
Accurate global prediction of agricultural nitrogen loss is hindered by imbalanced, heterogeneous data and a ‘one‐size‐fits‐all’ assumption that ignores regional variation. We propose GLoN (Global–Local Nitrogen Prediction), which builds region‐specific models with local variables and synthesises them into a weighted global model.

Mucuna pruriens as a Sustainable Functional Food: Applications From Seed to Product

open access: yesModern Agriculture, Volume 4, Issue 2, December 2026.
This review highlights Mucuna pruriens as a nutrient‐rich legume with significant nutritional, therapeutic, and agricultural value. Its protein‐rich seeds contain essential minerals and L‐DOPA, but high antinutritional compounds require effective processing before consumption.
