Formation of Macroaggregates and Organic Carbon in Cocoa Agroforestry Systems
The objective of this study was to analyze the biological contribution to macroaggregate formation under cocoa agroforestry systems, as well as to evaluate the potential of macroaggregates to store carbon.

Nitrogen fixing shade trees in coffee agroforestry: Quantification of nitrogen transfer to the coffee plant [PDF]
Nitrogen-fixing shade trees in coffee agroforestry systems are assumed to provide an alternative nitrogen source for the coffee crop when fertilizer applications are low, but the transfer of nitrogen from shade trees to the coffee crop has not yet been ...

Management and incipient domestication of Chamaedorea tepejilote in agroforestry systems in Mexico
Native wild plants are key elements in addressing global biodiversity loss and supporting sustainable food systems. We investigated how rural communities in Mexico manage Chamaedorea tepejilote, a wild palm with edible male inflorescences, by combining ethnobotanical, genetic, morphological and ecological approaches.

Toxicity of aqueous extracts of Ilex paraguariensis A.St.‐Hil. about Euphorbia heterophylla L.
Aqueous extracts of Ilex paraguariensis A.St.‐Hil. strongly inhibit Euphorbia heterophylla L. germination and early seedling growth, but show mild phytotoxicity on mature plants, paradoxically promoting biomass via antioxidants. Abstract BACKGROUND The escalating challenge of herbicide‐resistant weeds, exemplified by Euphorbia heterophylla L.

The predatory effect of the honey‐buzzard affects the reproductive performance of Asian‐hornet colonies, decreasing the density of workers over distance and time. The foraging distances of the honey‐buzzard concentrates within the first 2000 m from nest, which supports the results observed.
