The application of Analytic Process of Resource in an AGV scheduling

Computers and Industrial Engineering, 1998
This paper deals with the scheduling problems of a material handling system based on Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV). A new approach, Analytic Process of Resource (APR), is applied to deal with them. A linear combined priority model is presented to make decisions in the problem-solving process, and a local search algorithm is developed to build such a ...

Using CP/SMT Solvers for Scheduling and Routing of AGVs

IEEE Transactions on Automation Science and Engineering, 2021
An improved method for solving conflict-free scheduling and routing of automated guided vehicles is proposed in this article, with promising results. This is achieved by reformulating the mathematical model of the problem, including several improvements and speedup strategies of an existing Benders decomposition method.

Stepwise scheduling for AGVs in FMSs

Proceedings of 1994 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology - ICIT '94, 2002
The scheduling for AGVs is always a complicated and important issue in FMS. In this paper, a stepwise AGV scheduling method is presented. According to this measure, the AGV scheduling process is composed of a rough schedule and a final schedule. The rough one gives AGVs rough tasks following upper planning.

Integrating AGV schedules in a scheduling system for a flexible manufacturing environment

Proceedings of the 1994 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation, 2002
In a job shop where machining time takes a comparable amount as material transportation time, it is no longer realistic to ignore the scheduling of material transportation systems such as automated guided vehicles (AGVs). The authors' algorithm discussed in this paper integrates AGV schedules into a heuristic-based scheduling algorithm to achieve the ...

An Intelligent Algorithm for AGV Scheduling in Intelligent Warehouses

2021
In today’s intelligent warehouses, automated guided vehicles (AGVs) are widely used, and their scheduling efficiency is crucial to the overall performance of warehouse business. However, AGV scheduling is a complex problem, especially when there are a large number of tasks to be undertaken by multiple AGVs in a large warehouse.
