Fingerprint analysis and pharmacological evaluation of Ailanthus altissima

open access: yesInternational Journal of Molecular Medicine, 2018
Ailanthus altissima (AA) has been used in various anticancer prescriptions and showed excellent therapeutic effect. However, there is no report on the method of quality control and the anti-glioblastoma activity. In this study, we used a combinative method approach consisting of chromatographic fingerprinting and quantitative methods to analyze quality

Effect of Insect Damage on Seed Germination of Black Locust (Robinia pseudoacacia)

open access: yesPlant Species Biology, Volume 41, Issue 3, May 2026.
As shown in the figure, the white‐circled black locust seeds absorbed water and swelled, whereas the red‐circled seeds remained unswollen. This observed cryptic seed heteromorphism in germination is likely attributable not only to the development of an impermeable seed coat during maturation but also to physical damage caused by insects. ABSTRACT Black

The Biology, Ecology, Distribution and Management of Two Globally Invasive Weeds: Calotropis procera (Calotrope) and Calotropis gigantea (Giant Calotrope)

open access: yesWeed Research, Volume 66, Issue 3, May/June 2026.
ABSTRACT Calotropis procera and C. gigantea are emerging as globally invasive plants that can significantly alter ecosystems in areas where they have escaped from attended cultivation. Without effective management, these species can form dense monospecific stands, resulting in severe economic, environmental and social impacts.

Unveiling the Patterns of Wild Bee‐Plant Interactions on a Large and Mostly Unexplored Mediterranean Island (Sardinia, Italy)

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 4, April 2026.
An extensive survey of wild bee and bee–plant networks in Sardinia (Italy) highlights high species richness and diversity, particularly in mainland agroecosystems. All interaction networks were highly specialized, modular, and not nested, indicating potential ecological vulnerability, though varying across sites and on a temporal scale.

Projecting potential distribution of Eucryptorrhynchus scrobiculatus Motschulsky and E. brandti (Harold) under historical climate and RCP 8.5 scenario

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
Ailanthus altissima (Mill.) Swingle and its variant A. altissima var. Qiantouchun are notorious invasive weeds. Two weevils, Eucryptorrhynchus scrobiculatus (ESC) and E. brandti (EBR) are considered as candidates for biological control of A.

Intercontinental comparisons of invasive spotted lanternfly egg mass densities and mortality patterns

open access: yesEcosphere, Volume 17, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract Spotted lanternfly, Lycorma delicatula (White) (Hemiptera: Fulgoridae), is an invasive species of planthopper native to China. Populations of this invasive insect have been detected in South Korea (2006), Japan (2009), and the United States (2014).

Chemical control of Ailanthus Altissima by using different techniques [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
Ailanthus altissima is considered an invasive weed in natural ecosystems in Europe (Europe, R 2019/1262). Its invasion alters the ecosystem functioning, modifying native plant communities and wildlife habitat and threatening biodiversity.
