Air Circulation in Urban Areas
2021One of the consequences of the dramatic increase in urbanization that has taken place in recent years is the replacement of rural and green areas with roads, vast extents of concrete and large vertical surfaces. The air circulation in urban areas is different from that in the surrounding rural environment and is difficult to predict because it largely ...

THE PHOTOSYNTHESIS RESPONSE OF TOMATO TO AIR CIRCULATION
Acta Horticulturae, 2007The closed greenhouse is a new development in protected cultivation. As air is not ventilated to the outside environment, CO2-concentrations are higher than in conventional greenhouses, causing 15?20% increased production. The question remained as to whether increased air flow rates in a closed greenhouse cause photosynthetic adaptation.

Fate of air emboli in the pulmonary circulation
Journal of Applied Physiology, 1989The lung serves an important nonrespiratory function by trapping and excreting venous air emboli. The site of trapping and the mechanism of excretion, however, are uncertain. To observe the behavior of bubbles in the pulmonary circulation, we injected venous air emboli into anesthetized dogs and videotaped their elimination from the pulmonary ...

Reverse Circulation Underreaming Utilizing Air Lift
SPE California Regional Meeting, 1979Abstract This paper focuses on a new application of underreaming a well bore utilizing an air lift reverse circulation drilling system to increase reservoir production. The theory used and the equipment built thus far is presented and discussed. presented and discussed.

World-Wide Circulation of Air Within the Stratosphere
Nature, 1961Recent data on humidity mixing ratio, fission product fallout from nuclear weapon tests, humidity and tritium concentrations at heights of about 90000 ft over England, and the world-wide distribution of W/sup 185/ in the stratosphere up to 70000 ft are discussed. A modified Dobson-Brewer stratospheric model, which is consistent with the new results and
