Modeling of aircraft jet noise in airports
A mathematical model with 4 degree of freedom created in Matlab for aircraft final landing trajectory is described in this paper. A midsize commercial passenger aircraft similar to an Airbus A320 has been chosen as a reference aircraft. The parameters of

Accounting for animal movement during aerial imaging surveys
Animals are not stationary during aerial surveys; if their movements are related to the movement of the aerial platform, then bias can be introduced into subsequent population count estimates. We sought to establish a framework for assessing the impacts of animal movement on count error and platform bias by comparing aggregated counts and relative ...

Concorde Noise-Induced Building Vibrations, Montgomery County, Maryland [PDF]
A series of studies are reported to assess the noise induced building vibrations associated with Concorde operations. The levels of induced vibration and associated indoor/outdoor noise levels resulting from aircraft and nonaircraft events in selected ...

Cycles of dieback and recovery drove mangrove forest dynamics at the Albert and Leichhardt Rivers (Gulf of Carpentaria, Queensland, Australia) over 36 years (1987–2023). Landward margins were the most affected by reduced tidal inundation when the alignment of low lunar declination suppressed tidal range and extreme El Niño phases lowered mean sea level.

Concorde noise-induced building vibrations: John F. Kennedy International Airport [PDF]
Outdoor and indoor noise levels resulting from aircraft flyovers and certain nonaircraft events were recorded at eight homesites and a school along with the associated vibration levels in the walls, windows, and floors at these test sites.

ABSTRACT The integration of low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite constellations with commercial aircraft communication systems presents critical challenges in maintaining continuous connectivity during dynamic flight conditions. Current geostationary satellite systems suffer from high round‐trip latency (>$$ > $$ 500 ms) and inadequate coverage at high ...

Aircraft Noise: Annoyance, House Prices and Valuation
“Nobody wants to buy your house. It’s the aircraft noise. You’ll have to reduce the price a lot.” Aircraft noise around airports causes annoyance, and tends to reduce the price of affected properties.

ABSTRACT Air transport is one of the fastest‐growing sources of greenhouse gas emissions, yet it remains one of the most difficult sectors to decarbonize. The sector's climate impact is amplified by two factors: the steady rise in passenger demand and the absence of commercially viable low‐carbon technologies for long‐haul flights.
