PLD: Power line detection system for aircrafts
2017 International Artificial Intelligence and Data Processing Symposium (IDAP), 2017Power Line Detection (PLD) is still an important issue for aircraft safety. In this study, two simple PLD algorithms are developed that utilize two alternative line detection algorithms (EDLines and LSD) and feed their outputs to a simple K-Means classifier. The two versions are compared in terms of accuracy and speed.

Power Plant and Aircraft Systems
Aircraft Engineering and Aerospace Technology, 1966BECAUSE of relatively high power to weight factor, general compactness with low frontal area, competitive specific fuel consumption and general ruggedness, the horizontally opposed engines manufactured by Continental Motors Corporation have been used by small aircraft over the past twenty‐five years.

Power electronics transforms aircraft systems
Proceedings of WESCON '94, 2002This paper describes the secondary power sources available on a large transport aircraft and discusses expectation that power electronics will enable the transforming of present aircraft systems into new highly integrated systems. The benefits expected from integrating all of the engine-based hydraulic and pneumatic power sources into a single ...

Voltage modulation on aircraft power systems
Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, Part II: Applications and Industry, 1957This paper derives methods for calculating voltage modulation for a given speed disturbance with closed-loop voltage control. The magnitude of voltage modulation is quantitatively related to the open-loop frequency response of the voltage-regulating system.

Regeneration in Aircraft Electrical Power Systems?
SAE Technical Paper Series, 2008<div class="htmlview paragraph">This paper considers a wide range of options for the allowing regeneration onto the aircraft bus for possible inclusion in future aircraft power quality specifications. For many loads, such as actuators, the size and weight of power converters could be significantly reduced if the requirement to avoid regeneration ...

Power equalizer systems for aircraft alternators
Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, Part II: Applications and Industry, 1953For efficient parallel operation of alternators it is necessary that both real and reactive load be distributed equally among the alternators. A 400-cycle a-c aircraft electric system presently in use employs both reactive and real power equalizers which are interconnections of the respective voltage and speed regulating systems of the paralleled ...

Power-by-wire aircraft secondary power systems
[1993 Proceedings] AIAA/IEEE Digital Avionics Systems Conference, 2002This paper describes the secondary power sources available on a large transport aircraft that supply power for the aircraft operating and payload systems. The benefits expected from integrating all of the engine-based hydraulic and pneumatic power sources into the electrical system are identified in qualitative terms.

Power quality investigations of VSCF aircraft electric power systems
2010 42nd Southeastern Symposium on System Theory (SSST 2010), 2010A model of the advanced aircraft electric power system is developed and studied under variable-speed constant-frequency (VSCF) operation. The frequency of the generator's output voltage is varied from 400-Hz to 800-Hz for different loading case-studies.

Next Generation Aircraft Auxiliary Power Systems
SAE Technical Paper Series, 1999<div class="htmlview paragraph">Global market forces are driving down the cost-of-ownership requirements of future passenger aircraft from today's already competitive levels. All elements of the aircraft, including the Auxiliary Power Unit (APU), will have to contribute by providing superior performance and reliability within an environment which
