Multivariate linear regression to predict association of non‐invasive arterial stiffness with cardiovascular events

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 2, Page 1141-1150, April 2025.
Abstract Background Arterial stiffness is a crucial factor in determining an increase in systolic blood pressure and pulse pressure and can also predict the development of cardiovascular disease (CVD). The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between arterial stiffness and future CVD.

Acute myocarditis according to age: Presentation, management and early outcomes

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, EarlyView.
MIS, multisystem inflammatory syndrome; MRE, myocarditis‐related events (within 30 days included all‐cause death, cardiogenic shock, cardiac arrest, ventricular arrhythmias or complete AV block). Abstract Aims Acute myocarditis (AM) is a rare but severe disease affecting patients of all ages. Large multicentric studies comparing children and adults are

Pre‐admission beta‐blocker therapy and outcomes in cardiogenic shock: Insights from the Altshock‐2 Registry

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, EarlyView.
Among 668 with cardiogenic shock included in the multicentre prospective Altshock‐2 registry, 299 patients (44.8%) received pre‐admission beta‐blocker therapy. Previous beta‐blocker therapy influenced the early hemodynamic response to vasoactive drugs, but it was not associated with in‐hospital mortality.

The reality of advanced airway management during out of hospital cardiac arrest; why did paramedics deviate from their allocated airway management strategy during the AIRWAYS-2 randomised trial?

open access: yesResuscitation Plus, 2023
Background: AIRWAYS-2 was a large multi-centre cluster randomised controlled trial investigating the effect on functional outcome of a supraglottic airway device (i-gel) versus tracheal intubation (TI) as the initial advanced airway during out-of ...

Prehospital Airway Management

open access: yes, 2012
Recently, however, various different works have been published which have cast doubt on the real efficacy of tracheal intubation, a maneuver which is considered to be the gold standard in airway management. In some cases the management of prehospital tracheal intubation has been attributed to potentially worsening the critical patient’s final outcome ...

Retrotracheal Extraskeletal Ewing’s Sarcoma: Case Report and Discussion on Airway Management

open access: yesTurkish Archives of Otorhinolaryngology, 2017
Extraskeletal Ewing’s sarcoma is a rare tumor, and the management of airway compromise in case of cervical Ewing’s sarcoma has not been established. This report describes the case of a patient with retrotracheal Ewing’s sarcoma and discusses a successful
