Flavonoid‐Derived Probes for the Detection of Islet Amyloid Polypeptide Aggregates

open access: yesAnalysis &Sensing, EarlyView.
Misfolding and aggregation of islet amyloid polypeptide (IAPP) has been implicated in Type‐2 diabetes (T2D), contributing to β‐cell dysfunction. We developed flavonoid‐based probes, F4 and MF1, for detecting IAPP fibrils. These probes showed improved fluorescence response, over 10‐fold higher binding affinity than Thioflavin T and enabled specific ...

Role of eIF4A1 in triple‐negative breast cancer stem‐like cell‐mediated drug resistance

open access: yesCancer Reports, Volume 5, Issue 12, December 2022., 2022
Abstract In cap‐dependent translation, the eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4A (eIF4A1) is an mRNA helicase is involved in unwinding of the secondary structure, such as the stem‐loops, at the 5′‐leader regions of the key oncogenic mRNAs. This facilitates ribosomal scanning and translation of the oncogenic mRNAs.

The PteridoPortal: A publicly accessible collection of over three million records of extant and extinct pteridophytes

open access: yesApplications in Plant Sciences, EarlyView.
Abstract Premise Pteridophytes—vascular land plants that disperse by spores—are a powerful system for studying plant evolution, particularly with respect to the impact of abiotic factors on evolutionary trajectories through deep time. However, our ability to use pteridophytes to investigate such questions—or to capitalize on the ecological and ...

Electrical Manipulation of Intervalley Trions in Twisted MoSe2 Homobilayers at Room Temperature

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
This study explores electrical control of excitonic complexes in twisted MoSe2 homobilayer devices at room temperature. Gate‐dependent photoluminescence reveals distinct exciton‐trion conversion response, analyzed for angles of ∼1°, ∼4°, and ∼18°. Density functional theory calculations suggest the formation of intervalley hybrid trions that exhibit a ...
