Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

The influence of Fusarium infection and growing location on the quantitative protein composition of (part I) emmer (Triticum dicoccum) [PDF]
The effect of the fungal infection by Fusarium graminearum and Fusarium culmorum of emmer and wheat cultivars on their total protein content and the protein fractions albumins + globulins, gliadins and glutenins and their different protein types was ...

Methods to improve antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) treatment durability in cancer therapy are needed. We utilized ADCs and immune‐stimulating antibody conjugates (ISACs), which are made from two non‐competitive antibodies, to enhance the entry of toxic payloads into cancer cells and deliver immunostimulatory agents into immune cells.

Predictive nomogram of high-risk patients with active tuberculosis in latent tuberculosis infection
Introduction: The absence of predictive models for early latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI) progression persists. This study aimed to create a screening model to identify high-risk LTBI patients prome to active tuberculosis (ATB) reactivation ...

Non-natural Olefin Cyclopropanation Catalyzed by Diverse Cytochrome P450s and Other Hemoproteins [PDF]
Recent work has shown that engineered variants of cytochrome P450_(BM3) (CYP102A1) efficiently catalyze non-natural reactions, including carbene and nitrene transfer reactions.

Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...

Acetylation of albumin by low doses of aspirin [PDF]
Aspirin has a variety of pharmacologic actions, which are expressed at different doses of the drug. An effect on platelet function occurs at very low doses of aspirin (1,2).

CAF‐mediated immunosuppression in ovarian cancer is driven by IDO1, reducing T‐cell function. Inhibiting IDO1 restores T‐cell proliferation and cytotoxicity, increases cancer cell apoptosis, and may help overcome CAF‐induced immune suppression in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer. Targeting IDO1 may improve antitumor immunity.
