The Impact of Individual's Ecological Factors on the Dynamics of Alcohol Drinking among Arizona State University Students: An Application of the Survey Data-driven Agent-based Model [PDF]
College-aged students are one of the most vulnerable populations to high-risk alcohol drinking behaviors that could cause them consequences such as injury or sexual assault. An important factor that may influence college students' decision on alcohol drinking behavior is socializing at certain contexts across university environment.

Abstract Aims Biomarkers are pivotal in the management of heart failure (HF); however, their lack of cardiac specificity could limit clinical utility. This study aimed to investigate the transcoronary changes and intracardiac production of these biomarkers.

Abstract Aims A novel marker left atrioventricular coupling index (LACI) has been proved to be associated with cardiovascular events in patients without history of cardiovascular disease. However, the studies on cardiac magnetic resonance‐derived LACI in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) patients are limited, and the prognostic value of LACI has still ...

Co-nonsolvency of PNiPAM at the transition between solvation mechanisms [PDF]
We investigate the co-nonsolvency of poly-N-isopropyl acrylamide (PNiPAM) in different water-alcohol mixtures and show that this phenomenon is due to two distinct solvation contributions governing the phase behavior of PNiPAM in the water-rich and alcohol-rich regime respectively.

In this retrospective, observational study of a real‐life cohort of patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction, long‐term survival was improved in patients who achieved sustained reverse remodeling. Greater increases in ejection fraction (EF) and reductions in left ventricular end‐systolic diameter at the time of EF recovery, greater ...

Comparison of Roles between Alcohol Ablation and Surgical Myectomy in Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy
Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is a genetic myocardial disease that may extend to leftventricular outflow tract obstruction. Alcohol septal ablation (ASA) is preferred for itsnon-surgical, agreed as the safest way for advanced aged, or those with high risk ...

Abstract Aims H2FPEF and HFA‐PEFF scores have demonstrated prognostic value in heart failure (HF) with preserved ejection fraction. This study aimed to explore the value of the H2FPEF and HFA‐PEFF scores for HF risk stratification in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM).

Rescue alcohol septal ablation in sepsis with multiorgan failure
A 55 year old male patient with a diagnosis of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy was admitted with features of sepsis related to cholangitis. Initial management with intravenous (i.v.) fluids and antibiotics did not cause any change in his general condition ...

A straightforward method for the synthesis of alkyl enol ethers was developed, based upon microwave‐promoted alkyne hydroalkoxylation, requiring only alkyne and alcohol components and mild base catalysis. The reaction displayed broad substrate tolerance and was highly selective for Z‐configured, anti‐Markovnikov enol ether products.

Estimation of the Accuracy of Method for Quantitative Determination of Volatile Compounds in Alcohol Products [PDF]
Results of the estimation of the precision for determination volatile compounds in alcohol-containing products by gas chromatography: acetaldehyde, methyl acetate, ethyl acetate, methanol, isopropyl alcohol, propyl alcohol, isobutyl alcohol, butyl alcohol, isoamyl alcohol are presented. To determine the accuracy, measurements were planned in accordance
