ABSTRACT Background and Purpose White matter hyperintensities (WMH) are a core neuroimaging marker of cerebral small vessel disease (CSVD). Sleep apnoea (SA) is a recognized vascular risk factor, but its associations with regional WMH burden, short‐interval WMH change and cognitive performance in population‐based cohorts remain incompletely defined. We

Oxidation of alcohols using CoFe204@APTES@Ni(OH)2
Oxidation of alcohols using CoFe204@APTES@Ni(OH)2 was characterised by AAS, FT-IR, UV/Vis, XRD, TEM, FESEM, N2 adsorption, and VSM analyses. The catalyst was recovered by magnetic separation and reused four times without significant loss of catalytic ...

Problematic Internet Use in Frontotemporal Dementia: A Case Series
ABSTRACT The present study investigated problematic internet use (PIU) among 61 patients with frontotemporal dementia (FTD) compared to a cohort of 354 patients with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and Alzheimer's dementia. PIU was identified in 22.9% of FTD patients compared to only 0.8% of AD patients (p < 0.001). Behaviors included compulsive social

High chemoselectivity in the phenol synthesis
Efforts to trap early intermediates of the gold-catalyzed phenol synthesis failed. Neither inter- nor intramolecularly offered vinyl groups, ketones or alcohols were able to intercept the gold carbenoid species. This indicates that the competing steps of

Oxidation of Alcohols in Continuous Flow with a Solid Phase Hypervalent Iodine Catalyst
One of the most useful transformations in the synthetic chemist arsenal is the oxidation of alcohols to their corresponding carbonyl congeners. Despite its seemingly straightforward nature, this transformative reaction predominantly relies on the use of ...

Recurrent Hypothermia and Autonomic Dysfunction Secondary to Shapiro Syndrome
ABSTRACT A 44‐year‐old man presented with recurrent hypothermia, diaphoresis and hypertension. Extensive investigation for infectious, inflammatory, metabolic and endocrine aetiologies was negative. MR scan of the brain demonstrated no lesions but revealed callosal dysgenesis, consistent with Shapiro syndrome.

Free-Radical Deoxygenative Amination of Alcohols via Copper Metallaphotoredox Catalysis
Although alcohols are among the most abundant chemical feedstock, they remain vastly underutilized as coupling partners in transition metal catalysis.

Study on Vapor-Liquid Nucleation Rates for n-Alcohols by Density Functional Theory
The statistical associating fluid theory (SAFT) in conjunction with the Weeks-Chandler-Anderson (WCA) approximation for intermolecular interaction is employed to construct a non-uniform equation of state (EOS) for n-alcohols. The molecular parameters for
