Microwave-assisted practical and simple method for heterocyclization of o-phenylenediamine and aldehydes using DDQ as oxidant agent

open access: yesGreen Chemistry Letters and Reviews, 2017
In this research, 2,3-dichloro-5,6-dicyano-1,4-benzoquinone (DDQ) has been used in the condensation reaction between o-phenylenediamine and various arylaldehydes as oxidants under microwave irradiation.

Molecular Mechanisms of Aldehyde Toxicity: A Chemical Perspective

open access: yesChemical Research in Toxicology, 2014
Aldehydes are electrophilic compounds to which humans are pervasively exposed. Despite a significant health risk due to exposure, the mechanisms of aldehyde toxicity are poorly understood.

Unassisted Photoelectrochemical Hydrogen Production Coupled with Selective Glucose Oxidation Using Metal Halide Perovskite Photoanodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A metal halide perovskite‐based photoanode integrated with a CoNiFe layered double hydroxide (LDH) cocatalyst is reported for selective glucose oxidation reaction (GOR), achieving simultaneous and unassisted photoelectrochemical hydrogen production. This system delivers high photocurrent density, excellent Faradaic efficiency of GOR, and strong techno ...

Etude de la phase préfermentaire de la vinification: extraction et formation de certains composés de l'arôme; cas des terpenols, des aldehydes et des alcools en C6 *

open access: yesOENO One, 1981
En vinification en blanc, le pressurage s'accompagne d'un enrichissement des jus en composés de l'arôme. Parmi eux il convient de distinguer ceux qui, comme les terpénols existant déjà dans la baie, sont simplement extraits et ceux qui, comme les ...

Unexpected evolutionary proximity of eukaryotic and cyanobacterial enzymes responsible for biosynthesis of retinoic acid and its oxidation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Biosynthesis of retinoic acid from retinaldehyde (retinal) is catalysed by an aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH) and its oxidation by cytochrome P450 enzymes (CYPs).

Flexibility and Dynamicity Enhances and Controls Supramolecular Self‐Assembly of Zinc(II) Metallogels

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Zinc(II) coordination complexes with tunable aryloxy‐imine ligands exhibit controllable supramolecular self‐assembly into hierarchical fibrous structures. Coordination‐driven stacking, not π–π interactions, enables gelation, dynamic assembly/disassembly, and enhanced nanomechanical properties.
