B Cell Subsets and Atherosclerosis: Updates and Emerging Concepts
ABSTRACT Atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) is increasingly recognized not just as a lipid‐driven disease, but as a complex interplay between vascular cells and the immune system. Accumulating evidence highlights a central, yet heterogeneous role for B cells in atherogenesis, with distinct subsets displaying opposing roles.

Enzyme-catalyzed protein crosslinking [PDF]
The process of protein crosslinking comprises the chemical, enzymatic, or chemoenzymatic formation of new covalent bonds between polypeptides. This allows (1) the site-directed coupling of proteins with distinct properties and (2) the de novo assembly of

Deciphering the biosynthetic pathways of lichen acids
Summary Depsides and depsidones are polyketide‐derived lichen acids widely distributed in lichen thalli, yet the biosynthetic gene clusters (BGCs) responsible for their production remain poorly understood. To address this gap, we investigated the diversity and evolutionary relationships of polyketide BGCs in lichens.

ABSTRACT Pyrroloquinoline quinone (PQQ) is a redox cofactor derived from prokaryotes that participates in various biological processes involving dehydrogenase enzymes. Previous field trials identified a PQQ‐producing endophyte, Burkholderia seminalis 869T2, which enhances banana growth and reduces Fusarium wilt incidence from 24.5% to 3.4%.

Towards industrially-feasible delignification and pitch removal by treating paper pulp with Myceliophthora thermophila laccase and a phenolic mediator [PDF]
The ability of two natural phenols to act as mediators of the recombinant Myceliophthora thermophila laccase (MtL) in eucalypt-pulp delignification was investigated.

Ischaemic/hypoxic stress leads to heart remodeling and dysfunction. PCYOX1 promotes cardiomyocyte survival during injury, reducing the generation of reactive oxygen species. PCYOX1 deficiency regulates key proteins to preserve cardiomyocyte structure and function such as creatine kinase.

Unusual Metabolism and Hypervariation in the Genome of a Gracilibacterium (BD1-5) from an Oil-Degrading Community. [PDF]
The candidate phyla radiation (CPR) comprises a large monophyletic group of bacterial lineages known almost exclusively based on genomes obtained using cultivation-independent methods.

A two‐step process was transferred from batch to flow mode for the synthesis of (R)‐2‐fluoro‐1‐phenylethanol as a benchmark, consisting of a decarboxylative fluorination in aqueous media, followed by an enantioselective biocatalytic reduction of the prochiral intermediate with RrADH immobilized on silica supraparticles.
