Tomato Defenses Under Stress: The Impact of Salinity on Direct Defenses Against Insect Herbivores

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, Volume 48, Issue 5, Page 3647-3659, May 2025.
ABSTRACT Abiotic stressors, such as salt stress, can reduce crop productivity, and when combined with biotic pressures, such as insect herbivory, can exacerbate yield losses. However, salinity‐induced changes to plant quality and defenses can in turn affect insect herbivores feeding on plants.

Seismic Design and Fragility of Self‐Centering Bridge Bent With Replaceable Stretch Length Anchors

open access: yesEarthquake Engineering &Structural Dynamics, Volume 54, Issue 5, Page 1433-1453, 25 April 2025.
ABSTRACT Seismic performance assessment of a modified two‐column bridge bent of an existing bridge is presented. The columns of the existing bridge are posttensioned with high strength steel bars. The modified bridge bent combines self‐centering, from unbonded posttensioned (PT) bars with low initial posttensioning stress in the columns, with energy ...
