Parametric amplification of Alfven waves
Plasma Physics, 1972Parametric excitation of Alfven waves was predicted by Montgomery and Harding (1966). They showed that torsional Alfven waves of frequency omega are excited in a magnetised plasma by sinusoidally perturbing the external magnetic field at a frequency of 2 omega .

Excitation of global eigenmodes of the Alfven wave in Tokamaks
Plasma Physics, 1982Analytical and numerical results which demonstrate the existence of a new class of eigenmodes of the Alfven wave are presented. Possible implications for low frequency heating of Tokamaks are discussed.

Recent Alfven wave heating results on the TCA Tokamak
Plasma Physics and Controlled Fusion, 1984In this paper, we present the most recent results obtained during the Alfven wave Heating experiments being carried out on the TCA Tokamak. We have obtained both significant electron heating and some ion heating using rf powers up to 230 kW, greater than the value of the ohmic heating power in the target plasma.

Four wave mixing of finite amplitude Alfven waves

Past treatments of coherent wave mixing of Alfven waves have generally been restricted to three wave interactions. This paper presents the first results that show that finite amplitude Alfven waves can also undergo four wave mixing.
