The algebraic degree of the Wasserstein distance

open access: yes
Given two rational univariate polynomials, the Wasserstein distance of their associated measures is an algebraic number. We determine the algebraic degree of the squared Wasserstein distance, serving as a measure of algebraic complexity of the ...

On the covering dimension of the set of solutions of some nonlinear equations [PDF]

open access: yes, 1986
We prove an abstract theorem whose sole hypothesis is that the degree of a certain map is nonzero and whose parametric equations are studied using cohomological mconclusions imply sharp, multidimensional continuation results.

Sustainability‐Oriented Collaborations in Green Energy Markets Formation: A Configurational Analysis of Alliance Management Capabilities and Relational View

open access: yesCorporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Sustainability‐oriented collaborations are inter‐organisational arrangements where the competencies of multiple companies are pooled together to tackle environmental challenges. These collaborations differ from traditional strategic alliances in that they tackle complex goals amidst greater uncertainties that extend beyond economic performance,

Impact of QSW‐ZVS on Input EMI Filter Design in DC‐DC Converters

open access: yesInternational Journal of Circuit Theory and Applications, EarlyView.
This paper analyzes the impact of quasi‐square wave zero voltage switching (QSW‐ZVS) on passive EMI filter design for DC‐DC buck converters. The extra element theorem (EET) is used to derive the design quantities that ensure converter performance is not altered, and the resulting damping element values are compared with those of traditional converters.

Photometric Diagnostic of the Sheath Dynamics and Electron Density Trends in Single and Dual Frequency CCRF Argon Plasmas

open access: yesContributions to Plasma Physics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT A methodological study is presented on a noninvasive photometric diagnostic for determining trends in electron density and sheath dynamics in single (1f) and a dual (2f) radio frequency capacitively coupled (CCRF) argon plasmas. The 1f discharges are operated at 13.56 and 27.12 MHz, respectively, while the 2f discharge is driven by both ...

Exact Representation of Real Algebraic Number by Approximations and Its Applications

open access: yes工程科学与技术, 2010
:In order to make sure that the binary expansions of real algebraic numbers do not form secure pseudorandom sequences, a new algorithm was proposed to obtain the exact minimal polynomial from an approximate real algebraic number.

Kinetic Contribution to the Arbitrary Order Odd Frequency Moments of the Dynamic Structure Factor

open access: yesContributions to Plasma Physics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT An exact expression is derived for the kinetic contribution to the odd (arbitrary order) frequency moments of the dynamic structure factor via a finite summation that features averages of even (all lower orders) powers of the momentum over the exact momentum distribution.

Analysis of the success probability of cube attack

open access: yesTongxin xuebao, 2012
The success probability of cube attack was theoretically discussed when a boolean function was chosen at random and the algebraic degree or the number of terms in its algebraic normal form representation was restricted. The results provided theoretic ...

Restrictions on the degree spectra of algebraic structures

open access: yes, 2020
We construct the degree b ≤ 0″ admitting no algebraic structure with degree spectrum {x: x ≰ b}. Moreover, we solve Miller's problem of distinguishing incomparable degrees by the spectra of linear orderings.

Local realities, global discourses and decolonising the curriculum in a post‐92 UK context: Academic voices on enacting decolonial curriculum change

open access: yesThe Curriculum Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract This study explored how lecturers in a post‐92 UK university conceptualise and enact decolonial curriculum principles within their teaching and programme design. Drawing on semi‐structured interviews with academic staff across multiple disciplines, the research adopts a qualitative, phenomenologically informed approach to examine the interplay
