Teacher Perspectives of Student Engagement in Data Practice Instruction: Two Classroom Conditions

open access: yesSchool Science and Mathematics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study examines high school science teachers' perceptions of student engagement in data practices across two instructional contexts: a scaffolded, student‐centered environment using the Science Practices Innovation Notebook (SPIN) and a business‐as‐usual (BAU) teacher‐led investigation.

On the additive image of zeroth persistent homology

open access: yesTransactions of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 13, Issue 1, December 2026.
Abstract For a category X$X$ and a finite field F$F$, we study the additive image of the functor H0(−;F)∗:rep(X,Top)→rep(X,VectF)$\operatorname{H}_0(-;F)_* \colon \operatorname{rep}(X, \mathbf {Top}) \rightarrow \operatorname{rep}(X, \mathbf {Vect}_F)$, or equivalently, of the free functor rep(X,Set)→rep(X,VectF)$\operatorname{rep}(X, \mathbf {Set ...

On the Galois module structure of units in met acyclic extensions [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
Let Г be a metacyclic group of order pq with p and q prime. We shall show that the Г-cohomology and character of a Г-lattice determine its genus. Let N/L be a Galois extension with group Г, then U(_N), the torsion-free units of N, is a Г-lattice and the ...

Weight Enumerators and Gray Maps of Linear Codes over Rings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The main focus in this thesis is linear codes over rings. In the first part, we look at linear codes over Galois rings, and using the homogeneous weight, we improve upon Wilson's results about the prime power that divides the coefficients of the ...

A Study on the Classification of All Simple Commutative Near-Rings upto Isomorphism

open access: yesShanlax International Journal of Arts, Science and Humanities
This research paper aims to classify all simple commutative Near-Rings up to isomorphism, which are rings with no zero divisors and no ideals containing a nonzero element that is not prime ideal.

On the automorphisms of the power semigroups of a numerical semigroup

open access: yesTransactions of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 13, Issue 1, December 2026.
Abstract If H$H$ is a numerical semigroup (i.e., a cofinite subset of the non‐negative integers closed under addition), then the collection of all non‐empty subsets of H$H$ forms a semigroup P(H)$\mathcal {P}(H)$ under the sumset operation induced by addition in H$H$.

Context‐free graphs and their transition groups

open access: yesTransactions of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 13, Issue 1, December 2026.
Abstract Starting from context‐free inverse graphs, we introduce a new class of groups and study their structural properties. We establish closure properties, show that their coword problems are context‐free, analyze torsion elements, and realize them as subgroups of the asynchronous rational group.

Abelian number fields with frobenian conditions

open access: yesMathematika, Volume 72, Issue 4, October 2026.
Abstract We study the distribution of abelian number fields with frobenian conditions imposed on the conductor. In particular, we find an asymptotic for the number of abelian field extensions of a number field k$k$ whose conductor is the sum of two squares. We also discuss an application of the Brauer group of stacks to quadratic number fields.

Zeros of polynomials in derivatives of automorphic L$L$‐functions

open access: yesMathematika, Volume 72, Issue 4, October 2026.
Abstract Let Fm$\mathfrak {F}_m$ be the set of all cuspidal automorphic representations of GLm(AQ)$\mathrm{GL}_m(\mathbb {A}_{\mathbb {Q}})$, and let F(s,π)$F(s,\bm {\pi })$ be a polynomial in the derivatives of L$L$‐functions associated with representations π∈⋃m=1∞Fm$\pi \in \bigcup _{m=1}^{\infty } \mathfrak {F}_m$. We establish an asymptotic formula
