Algebraic solution for the visual hull

Proceedings of the 2004 IEEE Computer Society Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition, 2004. CVPR 2004., 2004
We introduce an algebraic dual-space method for reconstructing the visual hull of a three-dimensional object from occluding contours observed in 2D images. The method exploits the differential structure of the manifold rather than parallax geometry, and therefore requires no correspondences.

An Algebraic Solution for the Communalities

Psychometrika, 1948
Factorial analysis begins with an n × n correlation matrix R , whose principal diagonal entries are unknown. If the common test space of the battery is under investigation, the communality of each test is entered ...

Algebraic solutions of algebraic differential equations

Applied Mathematics-A Journal of Chinese Universities, 2005
The author gives a condition under which a second-order algebraic differential equation has an algebraic solution. Let \(a_0\dots, a_p\), \(b_0,\dots, q\) be nonzero entire functions of one variable such that they have a finite number of poles and without common zero, and consider the following equation: \[ (w'')^n= \Biggl(\sum^p_{i=0} a_i(z) w^i\Biggr)

Algebraic General Solutions of First Order Algebraic ODEs

2015
In this paper we consider the class of algebraic ordinary differential equations AODEs, the class of planar rational systems, and discuss their algebraic general solutions. We establish for each parametrizable first order AODE a planar rational system, the associated system, such that one can compute algebraic general solutions of the one from the ...

The Solution of Linear Algebraic Equations

The Mathematical Gazette, 1962
The rank of the coefficient matrix plays a dominant role in the theory of linear algebraic equations. It is not surprising, therefore, that a test for the rank of a matrix, that was a by-product of some work in dimensional analysis, proves to be an an admirable tool in this theory With its aid the consistency requirement assumes a simple and effective ...
