Incomplete microwave ablation (iMWA) of liver cancer triggers a biphasic progression in residual tumors. At Day 3, the microenvironment is characterized by acute inflammatory responses and extracellular matrix (ECM) remodeling. By Day 14, a profound shift occurs toward oncogenic signal transduction and immunosuppression, marked by macrophage ...

Mutant p53R273H disrupts PDPK1 homodimerization and contributes to PDPK1 activation
How mutant p53R273H drives AKT signaling is unclear. We show that p53R273H, but not wild‐type, directly binds PDPK1 via a mutation‐dependent conformational change. This interaction disrupts inhibitory PDPK1 homodimerization and enhances AKT phosphorylation.

Algorithmic complexity theory detects decreases in the relative efficiency of stock markets in the aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis [PDF]
The relative efficiency of financial markets can be evaluated using algorithmic complexity theory. Using this approach we detect decreases in efficiency rates of the major stocks listed on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange in the aftermath of the 2008 ...

Measuring meaningful information in images: algorithmic specified complexity
Both Shannon and Kolmogorov–Chaitin–Solomonoff (KCS) information models fail to measure meaningful information in images. Pictures of a cow and correlated noise can both have the same Shannon and KCS information, but only the image of the cow has meaning.

Algorithmic specified complexity.
Information theory is a well developed field, but does not capture the essence of what information is. Shannon Information captures something in its definition of improbability as information.

Advanced Statistical Testing of Quantum Random Number Generators
Pseudo-random number generators are widely used in many branches of science, mainly in applications related to Monte Carlo methods, although they are deterministic in design and, therefore, unsuitable for tackling fundamental problems in security and ...

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Symmetry and Algorithmic Complexity of Polyominoes and Polyhedral Graphs [PDF]
We introduce a definition of algorithmic symmetry able to capture essential aspects of geometric symmetry. We review, study and apply a method for approximating the algorithmic complexity (also known as Kolmogorov-Chaitin complexity) of graphs and ...
