Effects of Connective Tissue Growth Factor on the Cell Viability, Proliferation, Osteogenic Capacity and mRNA Expression of Stem Cell Spheroids

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
Background: Connective tissue growth factor (CTGF) is a cellular communication network factor family protein involved in many cellular functions. The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of CTGF on the proliferation, osteogenic capacity ...

Biomimetic Gradient Hydrogels Regulate Osteochondral Regeneration Microenvironment Remodeling via Spatiotemporal Programming Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Electric field‑driven continuous gradient hydrogel GHZF4 achieves spatiotemporal growth factor release, modulates immune microenvironment, angiogenesis and osteochondral differentiation. It realizes cell‑free functional osteochondral repair in rat/rabbit models, offering a promising biomimetic strategy for gradient tissue regeneration.

Ubiquitination of ACSL4 by Parkin Suppresses Ferroptosis and Rescues Glucocorticoid‐Induced Bone Loss

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
GCs reduce Parkin, leading to ACSL4 accumulation and PUFA‐phospholipid‐driven ferroptosis in BMSCs, which impairs osteogenesis and promotes adipogenesis, causing GIOP. Parkin restoration (via OE‐Parkin or Parkin‐LNP@DSS6) ubiquitinates and degrades ACSL4, inhibiting ferroptosis, rescuing bone formation, and rescues GIOP bone loss.

Determination of Trace Amounts of Boron in Polysilicon by Differential Pulse Voltammetry After Hydrofluoric Acid/Nitric Acid Treatment

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2011
A voltammetric method for the determination of trace amounts of boron in polysilicon is proposed. The effects of several chemicals and instrumental variables were studied, and optimized operating conditions were identified.

A Programmable Calcification Nanoplatform for Loco‐Regional Calcification‐Immune Hepatocellular Carcinoma Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An in situ‐grown BP‐CaO2 nanoplatform supplies coordinated Ca2+, endogenous phosphate, and oxidative stress to convert tumor calcification from a passive endpoint into an active immune‐remodeling process. Widespread hydroxyapatite deposition is visualized by CT, while multi‐omics reveals MCOLN2 as a calcium‐responsive mediator linking biomineralization

Adjusting UV‐Vis Spectrum of Alizarin by Insertion of Auxochromes

open access: yesChemistryOpen
First synthesized in 1868, alizarin became one of the first synthetic dyes and was widely used as a red dye in the textile industry, making it more affordable and readily available than the traditional red dyes derived from natural sources.

QRICH1 Disrupts Endoplasmic Reticulum Homeostasis and Amplifies NF‐κB Signaling in Periodontal Ligament Stem Cells to Exacerbate Diabetic Periodontitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
QRICH1 has been established as a key factor contributing to impaired osteogenic potential and accelerated apoptosis of PDLSCs in diabetic periodontitis. QRICH1 not only significantly enhances UPR‐associated apoptotic signaling but also amplifies NF‐κB‐mediated inflammatory responses. Its inhibition restores osteogenic capacity and reduces alveolar bone

AI‐Assisted Engineering of Glycyrrhizic Acid/Simvastatin Nanocrystals for Multifunctional Treatment of Bacterial Osteomyelitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Through AI‐assisted screening from FDA‐approved API to overcome the limitations of bacterial osteomyelitis treatment, glycyrrhizic acid and simvastatin are identified as a multifunctional combination capable of self‐assembling into mechanism‐targeting nanocrystals that effectively neutralize reactive oxygen species, suppress M1 macrophage polarization,

YAP1‐Driven Pathogenic Fibro‐Adipogenic Progenitors Secrete IL‐6 and FGF21 to Mediate Muscle‐Bone Crosstalk and Promote Bone Loss

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Fibro‐adipogenic progenitors (FAPs) in atrophic muscle undergo YAP1‐driven pathogenic activation, secreting IL‐6 and FGF21 as bone‐catabolic myokines that mediate muscle‐bone crosstalk and promote bone loss. Genetic or pharmacological targeting of this YAP1‐FAP‐myokine axis rescues skeletal deterioration, identifying FAP‐derived myokines as therapeutic

Gαi1/3 Are Essential for BMP2‐Induced Osteogenesis by Bridging BMP Receptors to the Gab1 Signaling Complex

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The Gαi1/3 protein is a crucial connecting protein closely related to the signal transduction process of bone formation‐related cytokines such as BMP2. Gαi1/3 mediates downstream signaling pathways such as Smads and MAPK by binding to adaptor proteins like Gab1, thereby promoting the osteogenic effect of BMSCs.
