A 3D bone scaffold with osteogenic properties and capable of hardening in vivo is developed. The scaffold is implanted in a ductile state, and a phase transformation of the ceramic induces the stiffening and strengthening of the scaffold in vivo. Abstract Calcium phosphate 3D printing has revolutionized customized bone grafting.

Introduction. Recent studies suggest that serum alkaline phosphatase may represent a prognostic biomarker in patients with primary sclerosing cholangitis. However, this association remains poorly understood.

Persistently elevated alkaline phosphatase [PDF]
A 32-year-old overweight asymptomatic man was found to have a persistently raised serum alkaline phosphatase at 250–300 U/l (normal range <130). Other liver function tests were unremarkable apart from an initial marginally elevated alanine transaminase, which normalised with weight reduction.

There is a significant need for biomaterials with well‐defined stability and bioactivity to support tissue regeneration. In this study, we developed a tunable microgel platform that enables the decoupling of stiffness from porosity, thereby promoting bone regeneration.

Single-Molecule Analysis of Alkaline Phosphatase
Chemical studies usually consist of measurements made on large ensembles of molecules with data representing average values for the population. It has been shown that individual molecules of a given enzyme have different properties. Large-scale averaging

We introduce a nucleic acid nanoparticle (NANP) platform designed to be rrecognized by the human innate immune system in a regulated manner. By changing chemical composition while maintaining constant architectural parameters, we identify key determinants of immunorecognition enabling the rational design of NANPs with tunable immune activation profiles

Salivary alkaline phosphatase levels and alveolar bone crest changes in immediate vs. delayed implant placement [PDF]
Background. Dental implant therapy is a top option for replacing lost or unsalvageable teeth. The most common placement protocols are immediate and delayed.
