Myotubularin MTM1 Involved in Centronuclear Myopathy and its Roles in Human and Yeast Cells [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Molecular and Genetic Medicine, OMICS International, 2015, 08 (02), 2018
Mutations in the MTM1 gene, encoding the phosphoinositide phosphatase myotubularin, are responsible for the X-linked centronuclear myopathy (XLCNM) or X-linked myotubular myopathy (XLMTM). The MTM1 gene was first identified in 1996 and its function as a PtdIns3P and PtdIns(,5)P2 phosphatase was discovered in 2000.

Magnetisms of spinor alkali and alkaline-earth atoms in optical lattices [PDF]

open access: yesPhys. Rev. A 101, 063611 (2020), 2020
We theoretically investigate zero-temperature magnetic ordering of mixtures of spin-1 (alkali atoms) and spin-0 (alkaline-earth atoms) bosons in a three-dimensional optical lattice. With the single-mode approximation for the spin-1 bosons, we obtain an effective Bose-Hubbard model for describing the heteronuclear mixtures in optical lattices.

Histochemical studies on enzyme activities of gastric carcinoma. I. Hydrolytic enzymes [PDF]

open access: yes, 1966
The activities of five hydrolytic enzymes, alkaline and acid phosphataSe, beta-esterase, leucine aminopeptidase and beta-glucuronidase, of human gastric carcinomas from 180 patients were investigated histochemically.

Enhancing Phosphorus Uptake in Sugarcane: A Critical Evaluation of Humic Acid and Phosphorus Fertilizers Effectiveness [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
Our research conducted in an area characterized by alkaline, lime-abundant soils investigated the potential of utilizing phosphorus fertilizer and humic acid to enhance phosphorus absorption in sugarcane crops. The results indicated that the application of phosphorus fertilizer significantly increased the total and bioavailable phosphorus in the ...

Efimov Enhanced Kondo Effect in Alkaline and Alkaline-Earth Atomic Gas Mixture [PDF]

open access: yesPhys. Rev. A 99, 010701 (2019), 2018
Recent experiment has observed Feshbach resonances between alkaline and alkaline-earth atoms. These Feshbach resonances are insensitive to the nuclear spin of alkaline-earth atoms. Ultilizing this feature, we propose to take this system as a candidate to perform quantum simulation of the Kondo effect.

Tumour-derived alkaline phosphatase regulates tumour growth, epithelial plasticity and disease-free survival in metastatic prostate cancer

open access: yesBritish Journal of Cancer, 2016
Background:Recent evidence suggests that bone-related parameters are the main prognostic factors for overall survival in advanced prostate cancer (PCa), with elevated circulating levels of alkaline phosphatase (ALP) thought to reflect the dysregulated ...
