Defective lipid remodeling of GPI anchors in peroxisomal disorders, Zellweger syndrome, and rhizomelic chondrodysplasia punctata

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2012
Many cell surface proteins in mammalian cells are anchored to the plasma membrane via glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI). The predominant form of mammalian GPI contains 1-alkyl-2-acyl phosphatidylinositol (PI), which is generated by lipid remodeling from

Tailoring the Solid Electrolyte Interphase Composition on Lithium Metal Anodes by the Choice of Ionic Liquid during Mechanochemical Modification

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Roll‐pressing lithium foil in contact with ionic liquids is used to produce modified lithium anodes. The differences in performance, composition, and evolution upon cycling of the anodes depending on the ionic liquid used are highlighted, when used in combination with a classical Li‐ion electrolyte.

Structural Reorganizations and Nanodomain Emergence in Lipid Membrane Driven by Ionic Liquids [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
The exceptional physicochemical properties and versatile biological activities of ionic liquids (ILs) have propelled their potential applications in various industries, including pharmaceuticals and green chemistry. However, their widespread use is limited by concerns over toxicity, particularly due to interactions with cell membranes.

Unraveling the Nanoscale Structure of Organic–Inorganic Hybrid Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
A Si‐wafer‐based NPs@SILP system facilitates detailed characterization of spatial structure and interactions between ionic liquid molecules and nanoparticles. The approach yields a uniform ionic liquid monolayer decorated with evenly distributed Ru nanoparticles, showing particle deposition disturbs the SILP's conformational order.

Role of Molecular Structure in Defining the Dynamical Landscape of Deep Eutectic Solvents at Nanoscale [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
The molecular dynamics of deep eutectic solvents (DESs) are complex, characterized by nanoscale spatial and temporal heterogeneity. Understanding these dynamics is crucial for tailoring transport properties like diffusion, viscosity and ionic conductivity.

High‐Performance n‐Type OFETs Enabled by Pyridine‐Substituted Diketopyrrolopyrrole Organic Semiconductor and Elastomer Stretchable Blends

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Two n‐type small molecules (DPPPy‐C10‐TN and DPPPy‐C‐Si‐TN) based on alkyl/siloxane‐substituted pyridine flanked diketopyrrolopyrrole (DPPPy) end capped with thienyl naphthalimide (TN) for organic filed effect transistors (OFETs) are reported. Interestingly, bottom‐gate top‐contact OFETs based on DPPPy‐C‐Si‐TN:SEBS blend show a high electron mobility ...
