Synthesis and Thermal Behaviour of Calcium Alkyl Phosphates as Bioceramic Precursors
Powders of alkyl phosphoric acids and calcium alkyl phosphates with various alkyl chains (butyl, octyl, and dodecyl) have been synthesized. The resulting powders were characterized by X-ray phase analysis, electron microscopy, and thermal analysis.

The alkyl moieties in wax esters and alkyl diacyl glycerols af sharks
The alkyl moieties in wax esters and alkyl diacyl glycerols from the liver of the dogfish, soupfin shark, and silky shark are almost exclusively saturated and monounsaturated, the main alkyl moieties being the C16 and C18 chains in both lipid classes ...

Alkylating Agents Stronger than Alkyl Triflates [PDF]
A new class of potent electrophilic "R(+)" alkylating agents has been developed using weakly nucleophilic carborane anions as leaving groups. These reagents, R(CHB(11)Me(5)X(6)) (R = Me, Et, and i-Pr; X = Cl, Br), are prepared via metathesis reactions with conventional alkylating agents such as alkyl triflates, using the high oxophilicity of silylium ...

Multiple Beneficial Health Effects of Natural Alkylglycerols from Shark Liver Oil
Alkylglycerols (alkyl-Gro) are ether lipids abundant in the liver of some elasmobranch fish species such as ratfishes and some sharks. Shark liver oil from Centrophorus squamosus (SLO), or alkyl-Gro mix from this source, have several in vivo biological ...

New insight into the spatiotemporal variability and source apportionments of C1–C4 alkyl nitrates in Hong Kong [PDF]
C1–C4 alkyl nitrates (RONO2) were measured concurrently at a mountain site, Tai Mo Shan (TMS), and an urban site, Tsuen Wan (TW), at the base of the same mountain in Hong Kong from September to November 2010. Although the levels of parent hydrocarbons

Alkylation of Dihydrofullerenes [PDF]
The fulleride dianions C(60)(2-) and C(70)(2-) were generated by deprotonation of the corresponding hydrogenated fullerenes, 1,2-C(60)H(2) and 1,2-C(70)H(2). These anions were prepared in the presence of a variety of alkylating agents, and mono- or dialkylated products were obtained. Alkylation was not successful with sulfonate ester alkylating agents.

Mechanistic Insights into Nickamine-catalyzed Alkyl-Alkyl Cross-coupling Reactions
Within the last decades the transition metal-catalyzed cross-coupling of non-activated alkyl halides has significantly progressed. Within the context of alkyl-alkyl cross-coupling, first row transition metals spanning from iron, over cobalt ...
