Syntheses of (+)-30-epi-, (-)-6-epi-, (±)-6,30-epi-13,14-didehydroxyisogarcinol and (±)-6,30-epi-garcimultiflorone A utilizing highly diastereoselective, Lewis acid-controlled cyclizations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The first syntheses of 13,14-didehydroxyisogarcinol (6) and garcimultiflorone A (5) stereoisomers are reported in six steps from a commercially available phloroglucinol.

The Role of Ionic Liquids at the Biological Interfaces in Bioelectronics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Ionic liquids (ILs) are highlighted as key artificial ionic materials that bridge biological ion‐based signaling and electronic devices. By understanding their composition, structure, function relationships, and mechanisms, ILs can advance from high performance electrolyte to core materials enabling integrated, multifunctional bioelectronics for ...

The NADPH-Dependent thioredoxin reductase C-2-Cys peroxiredoxin redox system modulates the activity of thioredoxin x in arabidopsis chloroplasts [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The chloroplast redox network is composed of a complex set of thioredoxins (Trxs), reduced by ferredoxin (Fdx) via a Fdx-dependent Trx reductase (FTR), and an NADPH-dependent Trx reductase with a joint Trx domain, NTRC, which efficiently reduces 2-Cys ...

DMAP1 Deficiency Suppresses Lung Cancer Progression by Destabilizing Replication Fork and Activating IFN Signaling‐Mediated Anti‐tumor Immunity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lung cancer remains the leading cause of cancer‐related death. We investigated the role of the epigenetic regulator DMAP1 in NSCLC and found that its loss induces replication stress and DNA damage. This in turn activates type I IFN signaling via the cGAS–STING pathway and transcriptional ISG de‐repression, enhancing anti‐tumor immune responses ...

Synthesis, Molecular Structure and Reactivity of 5-Methylidene-1,2,3,5-tetrahydroimidazo[2,1-b]quinazolines

open access: yesMolecules, 2004
Synthesis of novel 5-methylidene-1,2,3,5-tetrahydro[2,1-b]-quinazolinederivatives 2-4 with potential biological activities mediated by α-adrenergic and/orimidazoline receptors was performed by reacting 2-chloro-4,5-dihydroimidazole (1) withthe ...

Synthesis and Luminescence Modulation of Pyrazine-Based Gold(III) Pincer Complexes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The first examples of pyrazine-based gold(III) pincer complexes have been synthesized; their intense photoemissions can be modified by interactions with the non-coordinating pyrazine-N atom.

Quantitative Mass Spectrometry‐Based Biodistribution of Monoclonal Antibodies: An Alternative to Radio‐Biodistribution

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Monoclonal antibodies are powerful anticancer therapeutics targeting tumor‐associated antigens. Mass spectrometry enables precise and accurate quantification of mAbs in tumor plasma and healthy organs. Unlike ligand binding assay and radioactivity, mass spectrometry does not suffer from matrix effects and labelling artefacts while facilitating method ...

Structure and function prediction of human homologue hABH5 of _E. coli_ ALKB5 using in silico approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Newly discovered human homologues of ALKB protein have shown the activity of DNA damaging drugs, used for cancer therapy. Little is known about the structure and function of hABH5, one of the members of this superfamily.

Hepatocyte BDNF Acts as a Novel Immune Checkpoint to Restrain TLR4‐Mediated Acute Hepatitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies hepatocyte‐derived BDNF as an endogenous TLR4 antagonist that alleviates acute hepatitis. BDNF is downregulated in hepatocytes via REST‐mediated transcriptional repression during ALI/ALF. Mechanistically, BDNF binds to TLR4 on macrophages to suppress inflammation.

Ti–Pd Alloys as Heterogeneous Catalysts for Hydrogen Autotransfer Reaction and Catalytic Improvement by Hydrogenation Effects [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Ti−Pd alloys were investigated as heterogeneous catalysts for hydrogen autotransfer reactions. This is the first reported study of alloys as catalysts for hydrogen‐borrowing reactions using alcohols.
