The unphosphorylated EIIA(Ntr) protein represses the synthesis of alkylresorcinols in Azotobacter vinelandii. [PDF]
Upon encystment induction, Azotobacter vinelandii produces the phenolic lipids alkylresorcinols (ARs) that are structural components of the cysts. The enzymes responsible for the ARs synthesis are encoded in the arsABCD operon, whose expression is ...

Alkylresorcinols in Barley (Hordeum vulgare L. distichon) Grains
This study was carried out to compare grains of barley (Hordeum vulgare L. distichon) regarding contents and compositions of 5-n-alkylresorcinols. Mixtures of resorcinol homologues were isolated from acetone extracts from five barley cultivars. These polyketide metabolites were identified by chromatographic and spectroscopic means.

A Bacterial Sulfotransferase Catalyzes an Unusual Di‐Sulfation in Natural Products Biosynthesis
Herein, a unique sulfotransferase, AdpST, is identified from the adp biosynthetic gene clusters (BGC) in Streptomyces davaonensis DSM101723 and demonstrates that AdpST possesses di‐sulfation activity, which is unprecedented for bacterial phosphoadenosine‐5’‐phosphosulfate (PAPS)‐dependent sulfotransferases. It is further shown that the adp BGC contains

Bioavailability and Bioaccessibility of Grain Polyphenols: A Comprehensive Review
ABSTRACT Phenolic compounds are highly abundant, heterogeneous substances in plant food sources, especially grains. Wheat contains chlorogenic acid, syringic acid, ferulic acid, and gallic acid, and oats contain polyphenolic compounds such as p‐hydroxybenzoic acid, caffeic acid, syringic acid, vanillic acid, and p‐coumaric acid. Corn also consists of p‐
