syn-Selective alkylarylation of terminal alkynes via the combination of photoredox and nickel catalysis

open access: yesNature Communications, 2018
Converting alkynes into alkenes with high stereoselectivity via two consecutive C-C bond forming steps is a desirable process, yet very challenging. Here, the authors describe a dual photoredox-nickel catalytic system for the regio- and syn-selective ...

Catalytic, Z-Selective, Semi-Hydrogenation of Alkynes with a Zinc–Anilide Complex

open access: yes, 2022
The reversible activation of dihydrogen with a molecular zinc anilide complex is reported. The mechanism of this reaction has been probed through stoichiometric experiments and DFT calculations. The combined evidence suggests that H2 activation occurs by

In Situ Amine Formation to Modulate MOF‐Derived PdIn N‐Doped Carbon Catalysts

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An amine‐assisted approach converts PdIn‐MOF into PdIn intermetallic nanoparticles embedded in N‐doped carbon. In situ‐generated amines trigger early Pd nucleation, producing smaller PdIn domains than direct pyrolysis. Amine sterics and basicity tune composition and particle size, while solvent and amine co‐determine textural features.

Turning Unpredictable Biomolecule Adsorption to Controlled Corona Formation: Focus on Carbon Nanomaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Controlling the protein corona formation onto carbon nanomaterials (CNMs) enhances their functionalities as platforms for cancer theranostics. Here, we reviewed the effects of the intrinsic and acquired properties of CNMs on protein corona formation, the consequent biological and toxicological outcomes, and the strategies to reshape corona formation ...

Relative Performance of Alkynes in Copper-Catalyzed Azide–Alkyne Cycloaddition [PDF]

open access: yesBioconjugate Chemistry, 2013
Copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) has found numerous applications in a variety of fields. We report here only modest differences in the reactivity of various classes of terminal alkynes under typical bioconjugative and preparative organic conditions.

Phase Engineering of Atomically Precise Nanoclusters (APNCs) of Gold and Beyond

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Engineering the structural phase of materials is of paramount importance for both fundamental research and practical applications. In this Review, we summarize the recent progress in controlling the phases of atomically precise nanoclusters (APNCs) of gold, silver and copper, as well as bimetallic systems. The phase‐enabled material properties of APNCs
