All-solid-state lasers

Physics Education, 1994
Semiconductor diode lasers are increasingly being used to power solid-state lasers to produce all-solid-state systems which are efficient, reliable and compact. This area of laser physics is reviewed and some of its many applications are indicated.

2 μm Passively Q-switched all-solid-state laser based on WSe2 saturable absorber

Optics and Laser Technology, 2019
Based on a high-quality WSe2 film prepared by the ultrasound-assisted liquid phase exfoliation (UALPE) method, a passively Q-switched all-solid-state Tm:YLF laser at 2 μm with high peak power was presented. The laser characteristics versus the pump power

All solid-state Cr:LiSAF laser

IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 1995
Many kinds of experiments about all solid-state Cr:LiSAF lasers have been reported. A tunable all solid-state cw laser having tunability over more than 100 nm was developed by using the spectrum selection self-injection locking (SSSIL) method in 1992. The authors realize tunable picosecond radiation from an all solid-state laser with 146-200 ps pulses ...

All solid state Mid-IR laser

2011 Academic International Symposium on Optoelectronics and Microelectronics Technology, 2011
A Tm laser pumped Mid-IR all solid-state laser is reported. A thulium laser is used to directly drive a ZnGeP2 optical parametric oscillator (OPO) with 1.99μm output to generate the 3∼5μm wavelength. Diode pumped Tm:YAP laser operates on 1.99μm, repetition frequency of 10KHz, the optical to optical conversion efficiency is 28%.

Study of an acousto-optic Q-switched double pulse output Pr:YLF all solid-state laser

Laser physics, 2020
This paper proposes a blue LD pumping Pr:YLF crystal acousto-optic Q-switched double pulse laser with 639 nm red light output. The output principle of the Pr:YLF double pulse laser is demonstrated, and a four level differential rate equation model is ...

Advances in All-Solid-State Ultrafast Lasers

Ultrafast Phenomena, 1996
An ideal saturable absorber for passively pulsed laser systems has instantaneous response time, is perfectly broadband, has no residual loss, and has a variable saturation fluence. Kerr-lens modelocking (KLM) is an artificial saturable absorber with some of these ideal properties.

Ultrafast all-solid-state laser technology

Applied Physics B Lasers and Optics, 1994
Passively mode-locked diode-pumped solid-state lasers can provide practical high-power laser sources with pico- and femtosecond pulse durations. We use semiconductors not only to optically pump but also to cw mode-lock or Q-switch a solid-state laser. A novel saturable absorber design, the Antiresonant Fabry-Perot Saturable Absorber (A-FPSA), allows of
