Design and operation of all-solid-state Raman lasers

CLEO/Pacific Rim 2003. The 5th Pacific Rim Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics (IEEE Cat. No.03TH8671), 2004
We discuss resonator design issues for intracavity Raman lasers containing two independent, dynamic thermal lenses. Understanding thermal effects has enabled us to demonstrate record powers of 1.4 W at 578 nm and 1.7 W at 579 nm using LiIO/sub 3/ and KGd(WO/sub 4/)/sub 2/ Raman crystal respectively.

A reliable all-solid-state UV laser source

Technical Digest. Summaries of Papers Presented at the Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics. Conference Edition. 1998 Technical Digest Series, Vol.6 (IEEE Cat. No.98CH36178), 1998
Summary form only given. We have previously reported the analysis of generating the fourth-harmonic radiation of an IR laser in a single external cavity that resonates the second-harmonic wavelength and measured 39.5% IR-to-UV conversion from a few mJ of a flash-lamp-pumped injection seeded Q-switched laser.

All-Solid-State Pulsed-Mode Cr:Forsterite Laser

Advanced Solid State Lasers, 1993
We demonstrated, to our best knowledge, the first "all-solid-state" Cr:Forsterite laser, which was pumped by a diode-pumped, Q-switched Nd:YAG laser. We achieved slope efficiency as high as 19.5%, output energy of ~ 0.25 mJ at 1.4 mJ absorbed pump power and pulsewidth of ~ 5.6 ns.

All-Solid-State Operation of a cw Ti:Al2O3 Laser

Advanced Solid State Lasers, 1991
A CW Ti:Al2O3 ring laser, pumped by a diode-pumped, doubled, Nd laser, has been demonstrated for the first time. Tunable, single-frequency operation is reported.

An All Solid State CO 2 Laser Driver

SPIE Proceedings, 1989
A new, all-solid-state pulse generator has been fabricated to meet the SDIO requirement for an efficient, reliable pulsed power source to pump CO2 discharge lasers. This SCR-commutated nonlinear magnetic pulse compressor will be fully-compatible with present CO2 laser radar sources and will serve as a basis for future drivers designed to power lasers ...

All-solid-state femtosecond Cr:LiSAF and Cr:LiSGaF lasers

1997
This thesis describes the development of all-solid-state self-modelocked Cr:LiSAF and Cr:LiSGaF lasers. Diode-pumped colquiriite lasers compare favourably with mainframe-pumped Ti:sapphire lasers, but the conflicting requirements of self-modelocking and pumping by broad-area diodes can cause problems. Two alternatives were investigated.

Laser vision correction with an all-solid-state UV laser

2003
A stable all-solid-state laser system emitting at 210 nm is used for refractive surgery of human eyes. We present data that imply smooth ablation profiles, exceptionally fast wound healing and the potential for customized ablation. © 2003 Optical Society of America.

All-Solid-State UV Laser for Skin Diseases

Laser Congress 2024 (ASSL, LAC, LS&C)
We have achieved an all-solid-state oscillation of an ultraviolet laser that is convenient to move, easy to maintain, and operates efficiently. The developed laser effectively treats autoimmune skin diseases such as vitiligo, psoriasis, and atopic dermatitis.

Low-Threshold All-Solid-State Femtosecond Lasers

1999
Key factors which determine the mode-locking threshold of solid-state lasers are discussed. Laser cavity configurations which are designed specifically to satisfy the low-threshold criteria are described. Experimental results are presented for self-mode-locked laser systems based on Cr3+:LiSAF. The pump power requirement is reduced to permit sub-100 fs
