Inheritance of leaf color in Allium fistulosum

open access: yesEngei Gakkai zasshi, 1971
The petiole color of Allium fistulosum cultivated in Japan is white. A mutant having red petiole was found in 1963. In the cross between red and white and the reciprocal, the F1 was red, and the F2 and F3 consisted of 3 red: 1 white (Table 1, 2). Red color in F1, F2 and F3 was much paler than that of the parent.

Somatic Embryogenesis Pathways in Cultured Allium fistulosum Cells.

open access: yesCYTOLOGIA, 2000
The process of plant regeneration from cultured A. fistulosum cv. Fresh cells was investigated morphologically and histologically. Somatic embryogenesis was observed in one cell line (Yline) when cells maintained by suspension culture in liquid MS medium containing 0.5 mg/1 2, 4-D were transferred into 2, 4-D-free medium.
