Introgression of Allium fistulosum L. into Allium cepa L.: cytogenetic evidence
Theoretical and Applied Genetics, 1990A diploid Allium cepa plant was recovered from the backcross of an interspecific triploid (2 x A. cepa + 1 x A. fistulosum) to an A. cepa diploid which exhibited both A. cepa and A. fistulosum Adh-1 alleles. Cytogenetic analyses revealed a recombinant sub-telocentric chromosome. The ADH-1 locus is believed to be on the long arm of the sub-telocentric A.

Isozyme analysis of progeny derived from (Allium fistulosum ×Allium cepa) ×Allium cepa
Theoretical and Applied Genetics, 1991Relatively large quantities of seed were obtained from the interspecific backcross (A. fistulosum xA. cepa) ×A. cepa allowing, for the first time, an extensive study of the heritable traits exhibited by backcross progeny. Two backcross populations, BC1034 and BC1040, distinguished by differentA.

Meiosis inAllium fistulosum, Allium cepa, and their hybrid
Hilgardia, 1935Abstract does not appear. First page follows. A Preceding paper(4) discussed the general morphology of several varieties of Allium. cepa L., Allium fistulosum L., and their hybrids. Because of the high degree of self-sterility in the hybrid, cytological studies were begun in 1932 in the hope that they might explain the cause ...

Study on antioxidant enzymes in Allium cepa L. and Allium fistulosum L.,
Phytotherapy Research, 1998Activities of superoxide-dismutase (SOD), catalase (C-ase), peroxidase (P-ase) and glutathione-peroxidase (GP-ase) were investigated in leaves, stalks and roots of Allium cepa L., Allium fistulosum L. planted in the spring and Allium fistulosum L. planted in the autumn. Allium fistulosum L. spring, exhibited high SOD, C-ase and GP-ase activities in all

Japanese Bunching Onion (Allium fistulosum L.)
2020Allium fistulosum L. has many common names. Tindall’s reference to Kikiyu onion as a common name of A. fistulosum in east Africa seems to be a mistake, since there is not a kikiyu onion, and the similar name Kikuyu onion, derived from the ethic group name, is probably a local variety of A. cepa var. ascalonicum. Allium fistulosum probably originated in
