Structure, Dynamics, and Neural Codes in a Bat Social Network

open access: yesAnnals of the New York Academy of Sciences, Volume 1558, Issue 1, April 2026.
We studied group formation in highly social Egyptian fruit bats housed in a laboratory cave. Using advanced tracking, videography, and wireless single‐unit neural recordings, we showed that social networks evolved dynamically and then stabilized, with social hierarchy shaping behaviors such as food access and sleeping arrangements.

Robot Diagnosis Test for Egocentric and Allocentric Hemineglect [PDF]

open access: yesArchives of Clinical Neuropsychology, 2018
Patients with hemineglect fail to respond to egocentric stimuli or allocentric parts of stimuli contralateral to the brain lesion. The clinical diagnosis of hemineglect mainly involves evaluation of the egocentric form, while less sensitive standardized tests exist for other forms.

Exploring Virtual Reality for Body Image Assessment and Psychological Interventions in Individuals With Obesity: a Comprehensive Review

open access: yesObesity Reviews, Volume 27, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Individuals living with obesity often experience body image (BI) disturbances, which can negatively affect their quality of life and treatment outcomes. Virtual reality (VR) has emerged as a promising tool for enhancing psychological interventions, but no comprehensive review has specifically focused on VR‐based studies addressing

Neuro-anatomical dissections of unilateral visual neglect symptoms: ALE meta-analysis of lesion-symptom mapping

open access: yesFrontiers in Human Neuroscience, 2012
Unilateral visual neglect is commonly defined as impaired ability to attend to stimuli presented on the side of visual space contralateral to the brain lesion. However, behavioural analyses indicate that different neglect symptoms can dissociate.

The emotional valence of subliminal priming effects perception of facial expressions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016

Supplementing, restructuring, resisting: Maps of Underground space in poetry, embodied performativity, and the “misrepresentationalism” of Harry Beck's Tube diagram

open access: yesOrbis Litterarum, Volume 81, Issue 2, Page 140-154, April 2026.
Abstract This article considers mental and poetic “maps” of London in their respective relationships to Harry Beck's famous 1930s “circuit‐diagram” map of the underground railway system. This iconic image distorts and radically stylizes London geography; thus, it functions as a tool for planning individual travel itineraries but leads to a ...

Efficient Continuous-Time SLAM for 3D Lidar-Based Online Mapping

open access: yes, 2018
Modern 3D laser-range scanners have a high data rate, making online simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) computationally challenging. Recursive state estimation techniques are efficient but commit to a state estimate immediately after a new scan ...

Grid Cell Hexagonal Patterns Formed by Fast Self-Organized Learning within Entorhinal Cortex [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Grid cells in the dorsal segment of the medial entorhinal cortex (dMEC) show remarkable hexagonal activity patterns, at multiple spatial scales, during spatial navigation. How these hexagonal patterns arise has excited intense interest. It has previously

The bright side of authoritarian submission. Distinct cross‐lagged effects of right‐wing authoritarianism facets on intergroup helping intentions and susceptibility to anti‐helping misinformation during wartime mobilization

open access: yesPolitical Psychology, Volume 47, Issue 2, April 2026.
Abstract The key aim of the present research was to analyze the causal effects of authoritarian submission on intergroup helping intentions and susceptibility to anti‐helping misinformation in a context where authorities are mobilizing national support for the outgroup. Employing a longitudinal design, we surveyed a sample of Polish residents (N in t3 =
