A Unified Polymer Hydrogel Electrolyte Integrating Robust Adhesion, Self‐Healing, and Oxygen Permeability in Flexible Neutral Zn‐Air Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 39, 13 July 2026.
Flexible neutral Zn‐air batteries achieving a remarkable 3000‐cycle lifespan and withstanding 1000 bending cycles are reported. This performance is realized by employing a 3D physically cross‐linked neutral hydrogel electrolyte that integrates high adhesion, self‐healing, O2 permeability, and CO2 tolerance to resolve critical stability challenges ...

Interfacial Polysulfide Confinement via Spatially Controlled Sulfonated Metal–Organic Polyhedra Coatings in Lithium–Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 38, 9 July 2026.
Spatially controlled sulfonated metal–organic polyhedra (SMOP) coating on sulfur‐loaded hollow carbon spheres form ultrathin, conformal interfacial barriers that selectively confine soluble polysulfides, stabilize sulfur redox, and suppress shuttle reactions.

Manipulating H‐aggregation of Cyanine Dimers by Side‐chain Engineering for High‐contrast Tumor Surgical Navigation

open access: yesAggregate, Volume 7, Issue 7, July 2026.
A glutathione (GSH)‐responsive dimeric probe DCy‐Pr exhibits ultralow background fluorescence and GSH‐responsive disassembly‐induced emission, enabling >150‐fold fluorescence enhancement and a 9.5 tumor‐to‐normal signal ratio. It not only enables precise delineation of orthotopic liver tumors but also allows imaging‐guided resection of metastatic ...

Positive Encapsulation‐Induced Emission Control of Aggregation‐Induced Emission‐Active Anthracenes within Micellar Capsules in Water

open access: yesAggregate, Volume 7, Issue 7, July 2026.
Aggregation‐induced emission (AIE)‐active dialkylamine‐substituted anthracenes show strong green emission upon encapsulation by micellar capsules in 100% water. The encapsulation‐induced AIE effect depends on the substitution pattern of the anthracene framework.

Tunable Porosity and Structural Properties of Carbon Aerogels: Adapting Packing Density and Morphology of Dry‐Film Cathodes

open access: yesBatteries &Supercaps, Volume 9, Issue 7, July 2026.
Two types of carbon aerogels (CAs) were evaluated as sulfur hosts in lithium‐sulfur solid‐state batteries: a brittle mesoporous (p‐CA) and flexible macro‐/microporous (f‐CA). p‐CA achieves very high sulfur utilization (∼1500 mAh gS−1), but poor Coulombic efficiency and reversibility; f‐CA offered better cycling stability, but lower sulfur utilization ...

Effects of the weld thermal cycle on the microstructure of alloy 690. [PDF]

open access: yes
Alloy 690 has been introduced as a material for use as the heat exchanger tubes in the steam generators (SGs) of pressurised water reactor (PWR) nuclear power plant. Its immediate predecessor, alloy 600, suffered from a number of degradation modes and another alternative, alloy 800, has also had in-service problems.

Degradation Pathways of Carbonate‐Based Electrolyte Formulations in Potassium Vanadium Phosphate/Graphite Potassium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesBatteries &Supercaps, Volume 9, Issue 7, July 2026.
Herein, a K3V2(PO4)3/graphite potassium‐ion battery is presented as a reference system to study electrolyte formulations and their degradation pathways using a complementary analytical approach to study both soluble degradation products and surface deposits at the electrode–electrolyte interface.
