Guidelines for Essential Trauma Care: Second Edition (2026)

open access: yesWorld Journal of Surgery, EarlyView.
Injury is a major cause of death and disability globally, with the highest burden in low‐ and middle‐income countries (LMICs). Strengthening the organization and planning for trauma care (care of the injured) can improve care and lower mortality. In 2004, the International Association for Trauma Surgery and Intensive Care (IATSIC) and the World Health ...

Reactivity of the Iron Complexes with the Macrocyclic Ligand 5,5,7,12,12,14‐Hexamethyl‐1,4,8,11‐Tetraazacyclotetradecane (tet) Toward Dioxygen

open access: yesZeitschrift für anorganische und allgemeine Chemie, EarlyView.
The complex [(tet a)FeII(OTf)2] reacts with dioxygen first to a superoxido intermediate and in a consecutive reaction to the corresponding iron–oxido complex. The reactions of the iron complexes [(tet a)FeII(OTf)2] and [(tet b)FeII](OTf)2 (tet = 5,5,7,12,12,14‐hexamethyl‐1,4,8,11‐tetraazacyclotetradecane) with dioxygen were investigated.

Multiparasitism Resolves the Apparent Paradox of High Male Pheromone Investment Despite Frequent Within‐Host Mating in a Parasitoid

open access: yesEntomologia Experimentalis et Applicata, EarlyView.
It is unknown why males of the parasitoid wasp Nasonia giraulti produce large amounts of a costly sex pheromone although they were long thought to mate with their females already before emergence within the host. Mated females do no longer respond to the pheromone.

Common Equity Investors’ Assessments of the Dilution and Solvency Effects of Preferred Stock Instruments

open access: yesJournal of Business Finance &Accounting, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) requires dichotomous classification of financial claims as liabilities or equity. Classifying claims is challenging when instruments have attributes of both liabilities and equity (i.e., hybrid instruments).

Structural Variations Contribute to Subspeciation and Yield Heterosis in Rice

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Yield heterosis has been extensively exploited in hybrid breeding, with intersubspecific hybrids often exhibiting the most pronounced effects. However, developing elite hybrids remains a laborious and time‐consuming process. The genetic basis of heterosis has been debated for over a century, hindered largely by the lack of high‐quality genomes.
