Laccase-Catalyzed Oxidation of Allylbenzene Derivatives: Towards a Green Equivalent of Ozonolysis [PDF]
Laccase-based biocatalytic reactions have been tested with and without mediators and optimized in the oxidation of allylbenzene derivatives, such as methyl eugenol taken as a model substrate.

Design, synthesis, and SAR study of isopropoxy allylbenzene derivatives as 15-lipoxygenase inhibitors [PDF]
Objective(s): Allylbenzenes have been recently developed as inhibitors of lipoxygenases. They decrease peroxidation activity via mimicking 1,4-unsaturated bonds of fatty acids by their allyl portion.

Triphenylphosphine Derivatives of Allylbenzenes Express Antitumor and Adjuvant Activity When Solubilized with Cyclodextrin-Based Formulations. [PDF]
Allylbenzenes (apiol, dillapiol, myristicin and allyltetramethoxybenzene) are individual components of plant essential oils that demonstrate antitumor activity and can enhance the antitumor activity of cytotoxic drugs, such as paclitaxel, doxorubicin, cisplatin, etc.

The Methylenation of Several Allylbenzene-1,2-diol Derivatives in Aprotic Polar Solvents [PDF]
Abstract The aprotic polar solvents, such as DMF (N,N-dimethylformamide) and DMSO (dimethyl sulfoxide), accelerated very effectively the methylenation of 1,2-dihydroxy-4- (I), 1,2-dihydroxy-3,4-dimethoxy-5- (II), and 1,2-dihydroxy-3-methoxy-5-allylbenzene (III) in the presence of bronze and cupric oxide as catalysts.

New Catechol Derivatives of Safrole and Their Antiproliferative Activity towards Breast Cancer Cells
Catechols were synthesized from safrole. Nine derivatives were prepared and assessed for antiproliferative effects using different human cell lines. The in vitro growth inhibition assay was based on the sulphorhodamine dye to quantify cell viability. The

Wagner-Meerwien rearrangement of allylbenzene derivatives. I. Bromination of safrole.
The reaction of safrole (I) with bromine (II) was examined giving different results from the literature, i.e., 2, 3-dibromo-1-(3', 4'-methylenedioxyphenyl) propane (III), 1, 3-dibromo-2-(3', 4'-methylenedioxyphenyl) propane (V) and their bromo-substituted derivatives (IV and VI) were obtained.
