Some Results on Neutrosophic I-Statistically Convergence [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper introduces the neutrosophic -statistical convergent difference sequence spaces defined through a modulus function. Additionally, we establish new topological spaces and examine various topological properties within these neutrosophic ...

Partial depletion of plasminogen activator inhibitor‐1 decreases subcutaneous fat cell hypertrophy and liver cholesterol in high‐fat‐fed female mice

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Obesity raises blood levels of PAI‐1, a protein linked to metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease in people with obesity. In female mice fed a high‐fat diet, partially lowering PAI‐1 led to smaller subcutaneous fat cells and lower liver cholesterol, without changing body weight or insulin sensitivity.

Lack of sufficiently strong informative features limits the potential of gene expression analysis as predictive tool for many clinical classification problems

open access: yesBMC Bioinformatics, 2011
Background Our goal was to examine how various aspects of a gene signature influence the success of developing multi-gene prediction models. We inserted gene signatures into three real data sets by altering the expression level of existing probe sets. We

Almost Difference Sets from Unions of Cyclotomic Classes of Order 14

open access: yes, 2023
Almost difference sets have emerged as a fascinating and important area of research as they can produce functions with optimal nonlinearity, cyclic codes, and binary sequences with optimal autocorrelation. This study aims to investigate the existence of almost difference sets from the union of suitable cyclotomic classes of order 14 (with and without ...

Ligand‐dependent transcriptional heterogeneity in cell cycle gene expression delays G1/S entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
EGF and HRG induce distinct G1/S progression programs in ErbB2‐amplified BT474 breast cancer cells. Despite activating the potent ErbB2–ErbB3 heterodimer, HRG does not accelerate cell‐cycle entry. Instead, EGF promotes earlier restriction‐point passage via ERK–FOS signaling, whereas HRG activates the AKT–MYC axis, driving transcriptional heterogeneity ...

Functional comparison of EncB and EncC cargo proteins in iron storage within the Myxococcus xanthus encapsulin

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Encapsulins are protein nanocompartments that play an important role in iron storage. In the Myxococcus xanthus encapsulin system, two cargo proteins called EncB and EncC contribute to iron mineralization. Here, we show that EncB and EncC generate iron‐containing minerals with distinct chemical compositions, suggesting that the composition of stored ...

Fractional q-Difference Inclusions in Banach Spaces

open access: yes, 2020
In this paper, we study a class of Caputo fractional q-difference inclusions in Banach spaces. We obtain some existence results by using the set-valued analysis, the measure of noncompactness, and the fixed point theory (Darbo and Mönch’s ...

‘Guide and Prejudice’— How Argonautes recognize targets across domains of life

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Argonaute proteins use short nucleic‐acid guides to locate and regulate specific targets across all domains of life. Despite striking diversity—from human gene silencing to bacterial immune defence—all Argonautes share a conserved three‐stage recognition logic: guide‐directed sampling, progressive target pairing with a conformational checkpoint and ...

A Radon-Nikodym derivative for almost subadditive set functions [PDF]

open access: yes
In classical measure theory, the Radon-Nikodym theorem states in a concise condition, namely domination, how a measure can be factorized by another (bounded) measure through a density function.

Structural and biochemical analysis of a B12 superbinder

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
BtuG proteins are vitamin B12 scavengers in Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron, a dominant human gut bacterium. We present crystal structures of three BtuG homologs bound to cobalamin and its precursor cobinamide, revealing picomolar binding affinities, among the highest known for any natural protein.
